Nash and several Nets players have held to a similar refrain throughout training camp, but the comments have taken on a different tenor after Simmons struggled at times in his first two preseason games. In a combined 44 minutes, Simmons has scored 10 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, dished out nine assists and committed eight turnovers. The larger issue for the Nets is that while Simmons is 5-for-9 from the field, he has shown little desire to take a shot that isn't near the rim and has missed both of his free throw attempts so far.

Well, that seems less than ideal. Unlike his Sixers’ teammates, I’m sure Simmons’ new teammates are saying all the right things to support him:

"Just trust in him," Durant said, when asked what he can do to keep Simmons' offensive confidence up. "Pass him the ball when he's open, tell him to be aggressive. I don't do too much. I'm not here to be babysitting anybody. Ben knows that if he's got a time to be aggressive, go be aggressive.

Awesome about seeing the dubs. Whenever those kinda opportunities pop up I say see the best player you can. So curry and Giannis would be my first two choices for sure.

the nets will say all the right things about simmons but they don’t have the same emotional investment in him as the sixers had. at the end of the day they can treat him as what he was in reality — a salary match in a hostage negotiation that ultimately got the nets two first round picks and a player (seth curry) who is actually useful. paying $35 million to a guy who doesn’t play for you is not ideal but joe tsai can swallow the bill. i’m not sure simmons even makes them that much better, certainly not in the playoffs. he’s a year and a half away from being an expiring contract.

feel like draymond's trade value is really limited. i was thinking about it this morning and all jokes aside brooklyn feels like one of the only teams (maybe the only team) where he makes sense. i don't think the warriors would take simmons back tho

yeah i dont think theres really any way they trade him hes too crucial to what they do and no ones going to give them anyone good back anyway, maybe at the deadline if theyre struggling and hes playing bad some sort of dray + young guy + picks for a good player deal opens up that makes sense but that seems unlikely

one underrated thing about how the warriors work is imo that dray and steph are two of the most complimentary players ever, messing with that is dangerous

would the lakers try to get him? i don't know if that makes sense but feels like they like to get big names regardless
