even putting the brunson stuff aside their offseason was bizarre

i feel like i watched a different playoffs than their front office idk. their whole second half push was a combo of having small mobile centers who could make their defense fully switchable and two guards to go along w/ luka who could shoot and get their own shot. so their offseason plan was to sign two traditional centers and not replace brunson. got it

i am pretty skeptical that their ex-nike guy front office has any idea what they're doing

Karl-Anthony Towns didn't go into deep detail about what he's been through, but said he only started walking again after his non-covid illness on Saturday. He's down to 231 pounds. But says he feels good to be back out on the court and is ramping back up.

If the illness was "on Saturday" it sounds like food poisoning and puking his guts out.

aimless, honest to god i try not to do this, but what in the world makes you think you are capable of pronouncing "the better person" between two professional basketball players you have never met?

both players have put themselves on extensive public view for multiple decades, answered tens of thousands of questions posed to them, and in kareem's case has published in-depth articles outlining his thoughts on many public issues far beyond basketball. so just call it a hunch.

i found it interesting that kareem shouted out lebron in his kyrie takedown from a couple days ago

When I look at some of the athletes who have used their status to actually improve society—Colin Kaepernick, LeBron James, Muhammad Ali, Bill Russel, Billie Jean King, Arthur Ashe, and more—it becomes clear how much Irving has tarnished the reputations of all athletes who strive to be seen as more than dumb jocks.
