It went from 39.4% to 39.9% and perhaps this means the 3pt explosion is nearing its apex

idk feel like theres still a some room for players to get better at shooting particularly in the front court but stylistically hoisting might be reaching equilibrium

sorry I can't stop talking about ben simmons but thus far in 4 games he has committed 18 fouls and is 9 for 20 from the field. if his pf:fg ratio remains in the neighborhood of 2:1 probably not a good sign for the basketball nets of brooklyn

Real culprit seems to be a slight jump in turnover rate (12.3 to 12.7) and pace (98.2 to 99.9)

Per cleaning the glass, average transition frequency is up from last year (15% to 16.2%)

benn mathurin with 32 points on 8/17, 6/9 from 3, 10/10 on free throws.

this rookie class is rly rly good

him and haliburton are looking like a pretty nice backcourt

yeah i haven't watched a ton of either guy but they have some size and in theory could be a really nice fit

mathurin just has the juice, atheltic wing with a scorer's mentality and touch, him+hali are foundational players imo

the biggest thing for them is gonna be finding wings who can play D to round out their roster. they def have a nice little group going there but if your two best players are guards you gotta pour everything into figuring out how you’re gonna play defense
