if jaylen brown was actually on the table for KD that trade would already be done imo. there’s no way the nets are doing better than that if what they want back is an established player

the crazy thing is if the nets could get jaylen for KD they should do it in a heartbeat. they aren’t winning the title with him, the dream is over, if you can get a player of jaylen’s caliber plus whatever else would be in the deal for him that would be a pretty amazing recovery

owners need to extend their rule so that you cant trade pick swaps on off years

maybe i’m just too shook by KD’s performance in the nets series but i’m not convinced swapping jaylen for him meaningfully increases their title odds at the cost of the rest of jaylen’s career

jaylen has two years left on his deal and if they feel like he might be a risk to leave then flipping him for KD would be entirely defensible… i wonder if they’ve had any convos with his agent about an extension

yeah making a panic move would be very un-cleticsy here i think. adding brogdon seems like the right move and everyone else on that team should be getting better next season outside of horford/gazelle

brogdons a great add for sure i like the team and think they should run it back, pick up whatever bench guy they need at the deadline, now that theyve proven they can make a deep run they really need to limit starters regular season minutes, they were so fucking cashed by the finals

hollinger: Jaylen Brown is only eligible to make $36 million in 2024-25 in an extension on his current contract, compared to the $44 million he can make as a free agent. The only way out of it, again, is if he becomes supermax eligible by making one of the three All-NBA teams this season. Otherwise, he has no rational reason to extend his deal and would become an unrestricted free agent in 2024.
