I, too, was impressed by Smart's near perfection on the deliberate miss. But his hard-earned shot didn't go in. At least it was soft enough to stay tippable.

He was clearly going to go for a shot at some point in the near future but he was most definitely not yet going for a shot at the moment he was fouled

dammit that was very winnable down the stretch.

Jrue deliberately fouled when the ball was still below Smart's waist and he hadn't initiated a clear shooting motion, yet. The refs made the right call, even though Smart certainly would have shot the three, given half a chance. Jrue simply didn't give him the chance. Great on-ball decision making by Jrue there.

It didn't look particularly serious to me, but when playing against GS in the offs the possibility of missing even one game would make a guy like Ja very frustrated and unhappy. He's an emo kind of player.
