yeah his limitations defensively away from the basket are getting exposed by the warriors for sure. really awful matchup considering how porous denver’s perimeter defenders have been. just a nightmare through and through

the way the warriors are playing they can probably beat anyone, but it’s hard for denver specifically to draw a worse opponent than a ball-moving, sharp shooting athletic team like this warriors team. sort of unfortunate how this lineup played together all of 10 mins in the regular season and the depleted nuggs have to be the guinea pigs

i didn't actually think draymond fouled jokic on the one that got him tossed

yah that one wasnt much but the game was over and he was ready to blow up. i bet he woulda snapped at the ref even if he got the call you could see it coming.

there's 100% been uncalled hacks on jokic... i'm also not sure it matters that much in the context of this series. draymond is also prob getting respect from the refs that other guys don't which isn't helping matters for jokic.

the contrast vs jokic and embiid in the playoffs is prob instructive, embiid throws his weight around like a bull in a china shop essentially forcing the refs to put him on the line 12 times in one quarter. i don't think jokic is wired to play that way (i'm making no value judgement here)

yeah finesse players will always lose the ref battle vs power players. jokic actually tries to make the shots where embiid is trying to get the call.

jokic has gotten to the line a lot more post all star break, something like 8 FTAs/game vs 5, and watching him every night you definitely notice a difference. he’s definitely not afraid of contact. the issue in this series is draymond is so solid and disciplined down low, and he and the other warriors defenders have done a good job denying him favorable entry positions. and yes, a little home cooking, which I anticipate we’ll see the flip side of a bit in game 3 when they’re playing in denver

memphis played this game with such high energy and physicality it was very tough for the wolves to deal with, i dont think they have the horses to match them if they play like this
