east standing are kinda wild rn if the nets won the first play in game youd have bucks philly and nets all on the same side of the bracket

it’s the absolute dream scenario for the heat but the margins are thin pretty much everywhere even between them and the bucks if the bucks keep on this run

the nets basically have no chance of getting out of the play in game & i wonder if we’ll actually see whichever team is in the 2 spot try and low key tank their way down the standings to avoid the nets. is having home court in the second round worth having to play the nets in round 1 instead of the cavs? (no.) there’s also the chance if you’re the 3 seed that the nets beat the 2 seed and you get home court anyway

the funny thing is the heat and celtics might actually be better than those other teams, but just the star power scares you, and of course you dont want to throw the nets into the mix

the simple solution is to pass a local ordinance that makes it impossible for kyrie to play

would assume the bulls celtics and heat would all feel pretty great about their chances of making the ECF if the bucks sixers and nets were all on the other side of the bracket

celtics consistently play the bucks well but yeah i would basically agree with that assessment

well they’re on a 6 game win streak with wins over the heat, bulls, suns, and hawks so it might be happening. if they beat the warriors tonight they may rip off a big run

i do think their team is worse than last year in terms
of the talent around their big 3 esp with their bigs i don’t trust a big man coming off a broken back and portis/ibaka is not a championship level center rotation by traditional standards. but they have a lot of ways to beat you at the ends of games which is the benefit of having 3 guys that good. middleton hitting a 3 vs the heat and then jrue making the game winner, middleton killing the suns at the end etc

yeah their supporting cast is a little shaky like i was thinking they should just go small why not but even their small lineup isnt that satisfying

Middleton is weird, he's disappointing/invisible for long stretches of the game but will go supernova for like half a quarter

would be cool to see giannis just go full sicko mode both sides of the ball and drag them through the offs (unless they play the celtics)

Bucks definitely have that "not really trying yet" energy

could be but theres always that thing where he doesnt really want to play his most effective style xp

if he can shoot in the low 70s from the line — where he’s at this season — instead of below 60% — where he’s been the last two playoffs — it opens up a world where he can just physically dominate every playoff game

i think it’s forgotten now that the whole thing started because the heat actually got the refs to whistle him for it in game 1 of that series on what was an extremely pivotal free throw. still one of the most confusing moments i can remember watching NBA basketball
