seems like kd doesnt always make the best reads out of double team he missed an open kyrie one pass away at the 3pt line trying to completely pointlessly hit claxton in the high post which resulted in a turnover anyway

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 16:42 (four years ago)

seems like itd be better to have kyrie initiate the offense and run actions for kd

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 16:45 (four years ago)

for as great as he is kd has never been someone where you just put the ball in his hands every time down the floor and you get good offense out of it. if the nets end up playing that way i think you live with it and go at them on the other end.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 16:57 (four years ago)

i'm not sure the celtics really did anything wrong with KD, i mean when rob williams has his hand right in your face, 100% contested, and you still drain it, what can you do? and he just never seemed to miss. i do think the celtics got slightly lucky that tatum had a career game and pretty much every 3 went in but still, a lot of things went bklyn's way too.

watching kyrie with the ball is always such an incredible experience, arms and legs everywhere, like a muppet on fast-forward

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 16:59 (four years ago)

yeah celtics prob defended kd as good as you can he got hot from the midrange but also turned the ball over a bunch

yeah its always been his weakness. he and russ had some rough end of game moments together in big games

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Tuesday, 8 March 2022 17:45 (four years ago)

gets into the hero ball thing, and while his length gives him a huge advantage for passing out of double teams, it's generally not quality offense

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 17:57 (four years ago)

yeah seems like a no brainer to have kyrie initiate tho obvs he can get lost in hero ball too and is worse at it

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:00 (four years ago)

nice luxury tho to have two of the best hero ballers ever so you can just ride the hot hand on any given night

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:04 (four years ago)

yeah tho kyrie ultimately because hes so small is stoppable where kd is not

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:05 (four years ago)

can't remember if i ended up asking this on the main thread at some point, but assuming kyrie gets cleared to play home games, where can he still not play? like who might they face in the offs and not have him available? raps i think, anyone else?

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:09 (four years ago)

warriors?

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:11 (four years ago)

good breakdown

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 21:31 (four years ago)

that was good. i like how he articulates playing deliberately but also making quick decisions--good tempo isn't always about playing fast but is definitely about being decisive when the right play is there for you

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 9 March 2022 03:14 (four years ago)

yeah tatum is def holding the ball less which is a big improvement along those lines

lag∞n, Wednesday, 9 March 2022 03:23 (four years ago)

Jayson Tatum checks out with 44 points — and 98 points over his last two games combined. He has averaged 42 points per game over his last four outings.

celtics basketball baby

A fun fact I just learned is that Marcus Smart is No. 1 in the NBA in loose balls recovered BUT Robert Williams is No. 1 in loose balls recovered per 36 minutes.

lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 14:59 (four years ago)

tried to read some articles this morning and theyre all about marcus rolling stephs ankle media is living for the drama

lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 15:00 (four years ago)

Nobody appreciates the hustle these days

Chyiv Kyiv (Fetchboy), Thursday, 17 March 2022 15:31 (four years ago)

not gonna name any names but some people including coaches for the warriors are being very bitchy about a man diving for the ball

lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 15:53 (four years ago)

draymond said it was fine FWIW and we know he is normal

lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 15:53 (four years ago)

It was reckless and then he kicked klay but at the same time whatever that’s just how he plays. If Grayson did it to taytum tho I bet people would have feelings about it

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:05 (four years ago)

idk guys dive at balls near at each others feet every single game i dont think wed even be talking about it if kerr hadnt freaked out, and tbh he prob wouldnt have if marcus hadnt kicked klay on the very same play lol

lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:07 (four years ago)

ironically kicking klay was really only dangerous to marcus

lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:07 (four years ago)

We wouldn’t be talking about it if curry wasn’t injured

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:12 (four years ago)

that too

lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:13 (four years ago)

And that’s why Kerr was mad just like any coach would be mad

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:17 (four years ago)

yeah you dont see coaches get into it with players much tho

lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:20 (four years ago)

doc maybe feel like he does it with some regularity besides that not that much

lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:21 (four years ago)

dray summing up the 2022 celtics pretty well

“They started off pretty shitty,” Green said. “The way they turned their season around, you really gotta give those guys credit.”

i cannot help if you made yourself not funny (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 17 March 2022 17:33 (four years ago)

draymond green otm

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 17 March 2022 18:44 (four years ago)

they started off really bad but that was only for a couple weeks after that they had some injuries/werent really as bad as they seemed then in january they started playing really good and fortified that with some good trades at the deadline

lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 19:10 (four years ago)

this is irrelevant to the current celtics, but i was reading the athletic article about the '97 kansas jayhawks and look at little baby paul pierce

Tracer Hand, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:19 (four years ago)

we need a book about the celtics mid-season vibes turnaround, or long-form article at the least

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Monday, 21 March 2022 22:22 (four years ago)

no one can agree on when the vibes shifted

lag∞n, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:24 (four years ago)

they are very likable and im now cheering for them to come out of the east (would also accept the bucks again, tho).

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Monday, 21 March 2022 22:24 (four years ago)

i feel like rock bottom was smart calling out tatum and brown to the press.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:24 (four years ago)

yeh i remember that like it was yesterday. also seemed like everyone was done with the coach early on? idk this is an outsider perspective

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Monday, 21 March 2022 22:25 (four years ago)

they are a nice team its true and its doubly nice how home grown they are too welcome aboard spottie

lag∞n, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:25 (four years ago)

people were calling for brown and tatum to be broken up! lol
