J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 March 2022 15:19 (four years ago)

didn’t realize we were talking about cade earlier bcuz the hawks ended up losing that game :-/

― J0rdan S.,

bad loss, would've pushed them up to .500. Cade's pretty awesome though

Steve Nash confirms Ben Simmons will sit on bench with Nets Thursday night in Philly

shoot 3s during timeouts

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:14 (four years ago)

with both hands

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:26 (four years ago)

or shoot threes during live play, but on the other end of the court from the action. occasionally have the ball roll down to the other end so they have to stop play and kick it back to you. say "my bad" and keep doing it

Heez, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:40 (four years ago)

they should set up the simmo the savage gaming chair next to the bench for him to sit in

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:41 (four years ago)

just so many options... i hope all of the above ideas happen

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:41 (four years ago)

he should dress up like harden with a fake beard and weird sweatsuit

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:43 (four years ago)

fat suit under the sweatsuit

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:44 (four years ago)

my parents were visiting for our kid's birthday this weekend and i watched nets-celts with my dad. he and my mom were big celtics fans in the bird era but have been casuals at best for the past 30 years. my dad asked me to fill him in, and i said that the nba is basically professional wrestling now in terms of storylines, villains, alliances, heel turns, etc. but best of all worlds in that we have the beautiful game at the center of it all. in any case, there is something perfect and emblematic of where we're at that simmons is gonna show for the drama but not even play. why would we allow the possibility of basketball tainting the narrative?

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:48 (four years ago)

also as Tatum was scorching the 4th, he called to my mom in the other room that it was time to start following the season, gear up for the playoffs, and that she "is going to love the way (Tatum) plays"

obv

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:49 (four years ago)

nice

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:00 (four years ago)

idk i think all the 'top players checking out on their team' drama we've had in recent years is bad and lame, we need player vs player and team vs team beefs thats the good stuff

ciderpress, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:00 (four years ago)

also funny heel stunts like the draymond nut kicking arc from that one playoffs

ciderpress, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:03 (four years ago)

Ya I am not at all interested in off court drama, give me some on court dramatic story lines instead. There's a reason I haven't paid attn to pro wrestling in 35 years. One of the biggest story lines this season centers around a guy who hasn't played a single minute yet. That's pretty fucking lame.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:30 (four years ago)

Philly should invite Kendall Jenner to ring the pregame bell.

removing bookmarks never felt so good (PBKR), Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:32 (four years ago)

i find the bitchy drama pretty funny, but the constant trade demands are for sure a huge bummer

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:32 (four years ago)

they should find some way to discourage them

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:33 (four years ago)

otm, i was not endorsing the ben simmons approach. i enjoy the off court drama to a point but in addition to the fact that it should all be building up to actual games, the player movement is like perpetual musical chairs with 50-75% of the top 15 or so players in the league always angling to realign with some other configuration of superstars. storylines would only be enhanced by basketball, esp with continuity of teams and rivalries

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:37 (four years ago)

I love drama but man seeing that Simmo photo and all the updates on his status and I am so happy not having to deal with that anymore.

removing bookmarks never felt so good (PBKR), Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:41 (four years ago)

he is a super lame dude for sure, feel the same every time im exposed to kyrie lol

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:41 (four years ago)

love how the celtics have a largely homegrown team + some solid low drama guys now

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 19:42 (four years ago)

i find it hard to get a handle on tatum’s mentality but jaylen brown just seems like a rock solid guy

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 20:03 (four years ago)

as far as jayson and jalen go one is fire and one is ice but were not sure which is which

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 20:10 (four years ago)

tracer you should listen to tatum's recent appearance on jj redick's podcast. i think it will give you a really good sense of how he thinks and what's important to him.

having good players on your team is good

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 March 2022 22:30 (four years ago)

not sure how reserves are determined there but if its guys who arent in the healthy starting lineup then warp being a cumulative stat would favor players who have gotten a lot of minutes cause of injuries in front of them which with the exception of the suns def looks like whats going on there, granted those are teams that have continued to win with a lot of injuries which would imply they have good benches, but its prob not an apple to apples comparison to teams whos bench has played less cause theyre healthier

lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 22:39 (four years ago)

kyrie is very good at basketball

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 9 March 2022 00:58 (four years ago)

even tho they're obv in a better place as a franchise than where they were a few years ago & have some really good players on the roster, still kinda feels like the hornets are on a road to nowhere & i'm not really sure what they do to change that aside from hanging on to lamelo and bridges for dear life and waiting out this current era of the east? they felt exciting earlier in the season but it seems like they're gonna max out at getting the 8th seed and losing 4-1 in round 1 of the playoffs, at best. maybe i'm being too pessimistic about what they might look like next season if they're a bit healthier (hayward in particular) but they're not gonna have high picks & free agency is prob never gonna net them a ton, that front office is gonna need to get creative, which...

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 9 March 2022 01:04 (four years ago)

having lamelo and bridges is a great place to start but yeah theres a lot of work ahead of them

lag∞n, Wednesday, 9 March 2022 01:19 (four years ago)

i guess maybe the hope is that lamelo makes the ja leap

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 9 March 2022 01:30 (four years ago)

i think theres a really good chance lamelo becomes a top guy

lag∞n, Wednesday, 9 March 2022 01:33 (four years ago)

I hope so. He rules

frogbs, Wednesday, 9 March 2022 01:53 (four years ago)

kyrie put up 50 tonight

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 9 March 2022 02:24 (four years ago)

Kyrie Irving tonight:

50 points
15-19 FG (78%)
9-12 3-pt FG

He is the first player in NBA history to record 50 points, 9 3-pointers and 75% shooting in a game.

wow nash mad

Steve Nash if he looks forward to catching up with James Harden on Thursday: "I don't know that we'll speak."

— Kristian Winfield #NFTAllStar (@Krisplashed) March 9, 2022

lag∞n, Wednesday, 9 March 2022 02:42 (four years ago)

hm doesn't seem like he's that interested in catching up with him

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 9 March 2022 02:46 (four years ago)

feels pretty safe to say that if kyrie had just gotten vaccinated harden would still be on the nets and they would be the overwhelming championship favorites lol

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 9 March 2022 02:46 (four years ago)

alternate timeline for sure

lag∞n, Wednesday, 9 March 2022 02:48 (four years ago)

feels pretty safe to say

"overwhelming" might be a bit of overestimating

more difficult than I look (Aimless), Wednesday, 9 March 2022 03:29 (four years ago)

idk hard to watch kyrie play this year and harden now that he cares is trying + KD almost singlehandedly beating the bucks and not think that that trio would be overwhelming favorites. obv a lot of things could've gone wrong -- ***obviously!!!*** -- but still

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 9 March 2022 03:54 (four years ago)

i mean there was this line of thinking after the harden trade that the heat and bucks were losers at the deadline bcuz the sixers got better and the nets got simmons back but the best team in the east and possibly the NBA was KD/harden/kyrie even if kyrie had to play half the games in the playoffs and the elimination of that from the landscape was a huge W for the other teams in the east imo. even w/ as good as the sixers look they aren't as scary as a nets team that had KD/harden/kyrie in the playoffs

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 9 March 2022 03:56 (four years ago)

biggest issue with that nets team was health, kyrie going anti vax prob helped him there, unfortunately it alienated harden lol
