Lakers doing a nice Washington Generals impression tonight… think they just had their 20th turnover with 4:15 to go in the 3rd

Oh yeah and they’re losing by 29 to the Pelicans

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Monday, 28 February 2022 04:45 (four years ago)

the 1 seed in the west feels up for grabs again

― J0rdan S., Sunday, February 27, 2022 9:04 PM (one hour ago) bookmarkflaglink

it’s a huge long shot i think, suns would have to cough up a 6 game lead in 21 games

perhaps but they’re 0-2 without cp and basically only have 6 guys who can play right now. the warriors letting the mavs go on a 26-1 run in the fourth quarter wasn’t great tho

J0rdan S., Monday, 28 February 2022 04:56 (four years ago)

lakers are the worst team of all time

lakers are pain

Spottie, Monday, 28 February 2022 05:39 (four years ago)

at what point does bron shut it down? im kinda thinking he might not cos he wants that scoring title and who knows how many more seasons hes got

Spottie, Monday, 28 February 2022 05:40 (four years ago)

Since starting the season 3-16, the Pelicans – including this win tonight – are 22-20.

During the same time frame, the Lakers – including tonight's loss – are now 18-23.

xp i think theres a non-zero trade he forces a trade out of LA this summer

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 28 February 2022 05:53 (four years ago)

i’m sure his mentality is still “we’ll win the play in and have me and AD healthy for the playoffs and i like our chances vs anyone”

J0rdan S., Monday, 28 February 2022 06:02 (four years ago)

ppl seem to think he’s really gonna pressure the lakers to make big moves again in the offseason and they will have more flexibility but if it goes completely sideways like maybe they somehow fall all the way out or lose their first play in game who knows

J0rdan S., Monday, 28 February 2022 06:03 (four years ago)

i dont see what the lakers have that will put them in a position to get better next year. they have jack shit for draft picks for the next 6 years, westbrook is a negative asset, its just rough.

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 28 February 2022 06:05 (four years ago)

yeah they have russ's massive expiring but nothing to package it up with to incentivize anyone to take it

Spottie, Monday, 28 February 2022 06:08 (four years ago)

they’ll be able to trade 27 and 29 firsts. they’re far out so they’d have to find someone who valued them but it’s an extra first that they couldn’t trade at the deadline & those could easily be juicy picks if the lakers go all in on the final years of lebron and then have to rebuild

J0rdan S., Monday, 28 February 2022 06:12 (four years ago)

oh wow didnt know you could stretch it all the way to 7 years out. thought it was like 3-5 or something/

Spottie, Monday, 28 February 2022 06:15 (four years ago)

a good front office could figure out how to reshape the team a bit by selling stuff off and targeting the right replacements… we all know what kinda players work with lebron it’s not some mystery and plenty of guys wanna play in LA obv. but the lakers don’t have a good front office

J0rdan S., Monday, 28 February 2022 06:17 (four years ago)

my point

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 28 February 2022 06:31 (four years ago)

like the lakers 2020 championship has nothing to do with pelinka being good at running the lakers (see: all the pre-bron years) it comes down to bron saying "i want to go to la to do movies" and now hes won one championship for the least deserving fanbase in sports and made space jam 2 the space jamening featuring the warner bros ip squad and now its time to fuckin DIPSET

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 28 February 2022 06:33 (four years ago)

bron should join bronny's hs team

Clay, Monday, 28 February 2022 06:39 (four years ago)

woudl watch tbf

Spottie, Monday, 28 February 2022 07:15 (four years ago)

i tend to agree with ppl who make the point that basketball hasn’t been the driving force behind lebron’s movement decisions since he went to miami & so he won’t force his way out of LA to get to a better team. and he’s basically already telling us that his next move is gonna be about bronny

J0rdan S., Monday, 28 February 2022 07:57 (four years ago)

lol, he just did this, except it was a crypto commercial.

haha, i was gonna say, just saw that commercial. we have the technology!

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Monday, 28 February 2022 15:28 (four years ago)

The first several times I saw that commercial I wasn't really paying attention and I thought it was Lebron talking to Bronny.

the curse of bane

The Lakers are 6-14 since Desmond Bane said "Them footsteps ain't scaring nobody."

Only the Rockets have fewer wins in that span. pic.twitter.com/M3tQ0UbfQg

yeah and hes really not hunting 3s either

lag∞n, Monday, 28 February 2022 20:59 (four years ago)

luckily for us the viewers at home nothing else about ja's game is particularly normal

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Monday, 28 February 2022 21:03 (four years ago)

yah its not effected his game TOO much but the wolves were pretty happy to let him shoot the other night

Spottie, Monday, 28 February 2022 21:08 (four years ago)

yeah he needs to learn to shoot driving into a waiting defense isnt a long term plan

lag∞n, Monday, 28 February 2022 21:17 (four years ago)

it will be interesting to see how defenses in the playoffs try and play them & what the grizz have in their bag to respond. they’re such menaces in transition that it gives them a pretty high floor as far as offensive rating in the regular season but they’ll have to show they can repeatedly score in the half court with teams daring ja to shoot. it’s not like they’ve haven’t seen it before but they’re at another level of expectation now and they still have some guys like bane and JJJ who don’t have much playoff experience to speak of

J0rdan S., Monday, 28 February 2022 21:21 (four years ago)

the thing with ja is he seems like a gamer. like in the play in game vs the dubs last year he hit at least 5 threes and the dubs were going under on every screen. shredded the scouting report. but in a long series its the right play. excited to see what theyre made of with their new confidence. the jazz handled them pretty easily in the first round last year.

Spottie, Monday, 28 February 2022 22:12 (four years ago)

crazy that they’ve been missing dillon brooks for basically the entire season, looks like he’s coming back soon

J0rdan S., Monday, 28 February 2022 22:55 (four years ago)

i appreciate hollinger consistently laying out the real front office work even tho its basically irrelevant and tedious

Lakers cost themselves roughly $5M in tax payments and a small trade exception by not just sending cash to another team to take DeAndre Jordan at the trade deadline. Hey, it's the Buss's money, but that's some FO malpractice right there.

I saw a tweet that said fultz is younger than Chris Duarte and that’s wild to me. He was playing pretty well before the injury hope he can be an impact player.

the pass on that morant shot

Had 29 in the first half

Ended with 52

"the thing with ja is he seems like a gamer."

Left to go hike before Spottie posted that but somehow started thinking of the Ja talk here while I was on the trail, and that's what I was gonna say. Idk if anyone here has made D Rose comparisons but I think Ja is even more of a gamer plus more intelligent. It was kinda easy to befuddle Rose st crucial moments w defensive tactics. Guess the advantage prime Rose had was that big body.

just realized ja is coming up here on thursday. i'm not working this week and should probably just go.

Thinking about ja on a hike is some ball-is-life behavior love it

ok that buzzer beater was amazing but uh the pass by Steven Adams is also insane

frogbs, Tuesday, 1 March 2022 03:24 (four years ago)

def go xxp

Clay, Tuesday, 1 March 2022 03:25 (four years ago)

my god tickets for this are straight down the road of temptation...i could legit sit courtside 2nd row for 500 bucks which yes is a lot but in the scheme of historical nba ticket pricing is also not a lot
