I mean I think gobert is clearly a top 10 player, probably the most underrated player in the league at this point. his impact on the jazz is pretty undeniable

i think if you sort by defense you see the issue with basing a stat off plus minus i mean it wants you to believe that the nuggets have 4 of the 16 best defensive players in the NBA, that jokic, looney and capella are all better defensive centers than gobert, that steph curry is a top 20 defender in the league etc. there is prob some degree of accuracy to what it spits out for offense as is true for all advanced stats but the flaws in the overall numbers are pretty obvious bcuz of the defense component i.e. it’s deflating gobert’s impact bcuz they upgraded at back up center by switching out favors for whiteside

i’m always saying moritz wagner is the third best offensive center in the NBA tho so me and RPM are aligned there

gobert is a bog dumb fraud

if you want to put stock in the plus-minus numbers at all, the overall number is going to be a lot more useful than the offense/defense splits. you’re halving the sample sizes for the components and thus there’s gonna be a lot more noise

might just be on a heater but dinwiddie last 3 games with the mavs has given them a lot off the bench
