ah langfords in there i see, good reclamation project for the spurs, i could see them getting something out of him, feel like richardson has some trade value but to a contender who needs some spot minutes at guard not sure what hell do for the spurs guess they can always trade him again

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:03 (four years ago)

Richardson could totally be a Spurs-y role player but this is not a moment in the life cycle of the Spurs where that's what they need

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:04 (four years ago)

quick thoughts on harden/embiid. they will be killer in the pnr together for sure...

pop quiz:

when james harden swings the ball to a shooter in the pick and roll, which sixers player has the best chance of making an open three pointer?

a. tobias harris
b. tyrese maxey
c. danny green
d. mathisse thybulle
e. furkan korkmaz
f. none of the above

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:05 (four years ago)

Maxey at this point.

removing bookmarks never felt so good (PBKR), Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:07 (four years ago)

thybulle is hopeless but the rest of those guys can shoot, and if philly can find their way to playing good inside out ball they should get some nice looks

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:09 (four years ago)

the rest of those guys can shoo

can they?

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:10 (four years ago)

does danny green not make threes anymore? if not, then why danny green

roflrofl fight (voodoo chili), Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:11 (four years ago)

theyre all either currently decent to good shooters or have been in the past and are about to be in a situation that should be good to shoot in

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:12 (four years ago)

danny green has played like a corpse that has already been embalmed and set into a casket for imminent burial in the last two playoffs so i guess we'll see

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:12 (four years ago)

i think teams in the playoffs will be more than glad to concede shots to any/all of those players. their best shooter aside from harden is actually georges niang, i'm sure it will be fine

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:12 (four years ago)

maxeys shooting 40% green at 38, harris and embiid at 35, theyre not a bad shooting team, i mean none of those guys is someone you groan if your team gives them an open look but they can knock down good shots, and they should be getting them

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:17 (four years ago)

harden iirc can shoot too

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:18 (four years ago)

yeah. good luck w/ all that

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:18 (four years ago)

whether he can figure out how to play off embiid to get easy looks for himself will prob go a long way towards determining how far philly goes

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:19 (four years ago)

not sure what your argument is here jordan

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:20 (four years ago)

Yeah, last year Danny Green would have a hot game once every three weeks. Now it's once every 6 weeks, if that.

― lag∞n, Thursday, February 10, 2022 2:20 PM (two minutes ago)

that they're gonna be playing 2 on 5 on offense in the playoffs if their plan is to play spread pick and roll around harden and embiid & their success is going to come down to whether a bunch of unreliable shooters can stay hot for 4 series

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:23 (four years ago)

I'm actually with Jordan that they need another shooter.

removing bookmarks never felt so good (PBKR), Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:24 (four years ago)

i'm just saying the plan of attack vs them is very obvious it's swarm harden and embiid as much as you possibly can and if tyrese maxey and tobias harris shoot you out of the playoffs then i guess that happens but the way teams like the heat and bucks play defense, it's all designed around protecting the paint at all costs and making role players beat you with threes

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:26 (four years ago)

lol what level of shooting would be acceptable to you, all the numbers point to philly being a fine shooting team like theyre not blowing the doors off but theyre also not bad

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:26 (four years ago)

if team decide to just not guard phillys shooters well then i think that sounds like a bad plan

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:27 (four years ago)

i guess we'll find out cuz i think that's gonna be the plan

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:27 (four years ago)

― lag∞n, Friday, 11 February 2022 6:19 AM

they both tend to sit there and call for the ball. neither has ever had to cut into space or move without the ball. fortunately they have a great coach there who will no doubt help them avoid their worse tendencies

micah, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:28 (four years ago)

leaving shooters open is generally not a thing good teams are in to idk

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:28 (four years ago)

to hardens credit he is a great playmaker and if he decides to just run the pick and roll w embiid into the ground which is what he should absolutely do then its gonna be pretty tough on the rest of the league, if he instead just dribbles an bunch and takes stepbacks well lol

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:30 (four years ago)

putting embiid in the pick and roll instead of the post could help with his conditioning issues too, could see a situation where harden and embiid are both reformed and playing good team ball but then revert back to their bad habits at the end of a playoff game and get bounced lol

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:33 (four years ago)

harden def made an effort to be more of a distributor in brooklyn so

― lag∞n, Thursday, February 10, 2022 2:28 PM (one second ago)

the bucks and the heat are 30th and 28th respectively in the league in opponent 3 point attempts allowed per 100 possessions, that's the style of defense both they play and it's generally worked out pretty well for them. no team that plays the sixers in the playoffs is going to stick to their shooters and just let harden and embiid beat them (if such a thing is even possible). they're going to make the other guys beat them w/ open threes, it seems pretty obvious to me. now if you think they have the talent to do so that's cool -- i disagree.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:41 (four years ago)

wtf are the Wiz doing

Heez, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:42 (four years ago)

um wow. sure hope the mavs are managing to get kuzma and/or KCP out of that deal

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:42 (four years ago)

the wiz also traded trez to the hornets, beal is out for the season & porzingis is also hurt and of course never healthy. about to be one of the great half-season tanks in nba history

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:43 (four years ago)

just because the heat and bucks give up more open threes than most teams doesnt mean theyre like ah fuck those guys who shoot 35-40% who cares, it just means their defense is tilted a little more towards the paint, and it is worth noting that both teams have gotten burned a lot by that approach, bucks did eek out a title with giannis going absolutely nuclear but coach bud was all but out the door before that

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:45 (four years ago)

they also both have good collapse and recover rosters

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:47 (four years ago)

Does this mean Brunson is also on his way out?

There is some desperation need-to-make-Luka-happy energy here

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:48 (four years ago)

honestly in a philly miami series embiids ft attempts are prob going to go a lot further towards determining the outcome of the series than phillys shooting

did not think the mavs would be able to trade porzingis and end up w/ me thinking it's a terrible trade but wow that looks like a terrible trade

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:51 (four years ago)

poor zinger he could been great if he just stopped growing a lil sooner

god i love stephen a

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 February 2022 19:59 (four years ago)

has Richard Jefferson always resembled handsome Squidward

frogbs, Thursday, 10 February 2022 20:00 (four years ago)

agree that this trade has a lot of downside risk for philly but it also put them in contention so its good, might not work out, but its good

lag∞n, Thursday, 10 February 2022 20:01 (four years ago)

and the sixers def got a haul, whether all their players will ever see the court together is a question tho
