very smooth and controlled player, fun to watch
― Spottie, Wednesday, 26 January 2022 23:09 (four years ago)
his numbers if you remove the first month of the season have started to look really nice. pull up threes and extending out his range feel like the keys to me or else he prob settles into the 19-9-7 range which is obv still great but i think also means detroit is still looking for a true no 1 star. it’s hard to get a handle on his projection bcuz the physical tools don’t pop but the speed with which he plays the game is pretty unique, seems very under control, for a PG his age that has to be encouraging. if he could get to darius garland shooting range/scoring numbers with everything else then i think you start to have a pretty scary player

cavs easily in control against the basically-healthy bucks

it would be unfortunate if the nuggets lost to the nets C team tonight but it is a road back to back
― auld gang syne (k3vin k.), Thursday, 27 January 2022 02:26 (four years ago)
scanning the box scores for something to put on and there isn't a game with a single digit margin right now. the hornets are in the process of putting up 160 on the pacers.
― call all destroyer, Thursday, 27 January 2022 02:27 (four years ago)
oh i guess den-bkn is close but why would i watch that version of the nets
― call all destroyer, Thursday, 27 January 2022 02:28 (four years ago)
grayson allen misses a single game and the bucks just crumble into a pile of ash. food for thought.
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 27 January 2022 02:35 (four years ago)
cam reddish just kinda like... not playing for the knicks. not sure i get it, really

related:
Thibs rolled with the starters for 6-plus minutes as the Heat went up 26 — Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier, RJ Barrett, Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson. That lineup is minus-11.5 per 100 possessions on the season, but has played the third-most minutes of any lineup in the NBA.— Fred Katz (@FredKatz) January 27, 2022

lol
― lag∞n, Thursday, 27 January 2022 02:44 (four years ago)
thibs isn't going to optimize lineups ever so you either have to force him to via roster moves or get a different coach
― call all destroyer, Thursday, 27 January 2022 02:45 (four years ago)
hire thibs as coach + trade for promising but raw young dudes --> ??? ---> profit
― Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 27 January 2022 02:46 (four years ago)
works well with my theory that this round of knicks management has no actual plan whatsoever but by keeping a low profile and not being embarrassing could hang onto the job for years
― call all destroyer, Thursday, 27 January 2022 02:50 (four years ago)
watching some of cam reddish play now and if you went into a high tech lab w/ the express purpose of designing a player who thibs would refuse to put on the floor you would come up w/ something very close to him

it's really funny the knicks deluded themselves into thinking that thibs had waved a wand and turned them into a good defensive team instead of accepting the obvious explanation re opponent's three point shooting. rolling out a starting line up of kemba walker, evan fournier, rj barrett, julius randle, and mitchell robinson... they really shouldn't be as bad as they are but that's just a bunch of guys who have no hope of stopping anyone + mitchell robinson who isn't exactly joel embiid as a rim protector, to put it lightly. the back ups just play so much harder it's pretty embarrassing
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 27 January 2022 03:03 (four years ago)
the hornets are in the process of putting up 160 on the pacers.
158-126 final score, do you care to retract your prognostication sir
― Clay, Thursday, 27 January 2022 03:09 (four years ago)
xp yeah i wouldn't say the quality of the defensive personnel has changed much except they've barely had noel this year, which has definitely hurt them.
it's just a very janky team. they have a lot of nba players, but none of them fit or on the same timeline.

It's buried in the text. an MRI showed internal bleeding that was placing pressure on the spinal cord.
