i'm honestly a little more confused about that deal for detroit! but at least they've got the right idea (playing ben at a position that is not point guard)

detroit is looking around and saying hey why not play ben simmons at center after all he is tall and cannot shoot

ben rejects this thesis and would sulk at center

he will be fine he will like it

feel like theres a good chance the sixers are bluffing here and will end up taking some sort of deal like detroits

i highly doubt simmons ends up in detroit but if you were gonna build a team around simmons cade cunningham would be a pretty great fit i think in that a. he’s a perimeter player b. he seems to have a high basketball IQ, is a good passer etc. feel like they could figure some stuff out if they had some shooting around them

watched the pistons last night and the dubs were up by ~40 at one point, just some of the worst defense you can imagine. warriors were playing at about 75% speed and were walking into layups, backdoor cuts or kicking out to 3s with no one within 15 feet. just truly detestable play. ben would help there big time.

cade skill set is the same reason why i like the combo of ben and lamelo

hornets should def be trying to get ben

i think the problem there is the sixers would likely want bridges and i don’t think i’d do that if i was philly. but if you could give them any other amount/combo of players and a pick or two i’d strongly consider it. lonzo + bridges + simmons would be a nightmare in transition & could play some interesting switchable defense too

the best player the sixers are getting in that detroit package is….jeremi grant

feels like that trade sets up an answer to their potential for a playoff injury sinking them instantly

his stock basically bottomed out with one single non-injury related play which is completely unheard of. his teammates and coaches reactions to it just made it worse they coulda easily been like man he just thought the defender was there and made the wrong read he's still amazing and a part of our future but instead doc was like yeaaaaah lol he sucks and we cant win with him. pretty baffling to me that doc survived that honestly. basically burned a massive asset and at minimum half a season of other players to help.

maxey is looking pretty nice

i think he's prob best as a sixth man ultimately but for where they got him in the draft he's developed really nicely

not sure mo bamba 3pt specialist is a good idea, but it's working this game against the sixers

if you catch him on the right night he looks like an actual player, just don't go and look at his full season stats

Sure, Simmons has been a guy who seems open to new things and adding facets to his game, lol.

I can't believe people in this thread acting like Simmons was a completely normal guy until suddenly one play in Game 7.

Dude has been a cream puff drama fueled bizzo from day 1.

He's always been more of an Instagram influencer's idea of a basketball player than an actual basketball player.

he's been first team all defense each of the last two seasons and the sixers are suddenly dead last in the NBA in rebounding w/ him not playing

He's a great defensive player and I would never argue otherwise.

His biggest problem seems to be he doesn't like basketball.

tbh his production this season hasn't been very impressive

have to say I respect kyrie infinitely more than ben. kyrie’s critical thinking skills may be averageish, but he’s at least honest. I respected his answers recently when he was getting pressed by reporters about getting the vaccine: basketball isn’t that serious to me, I’m getting paid either way, joke’s on you guys.
