i mean, every team in the NBA would've done what they did if given the chance and it's not like they tore down some great nucleus in order to do so. but um, yeah. it's looked tenuous from the minute it all came together. then again they may have been half an inch from winning a title last year. so i guess we'll see

Taking out a seasons worth of frustrations on Rudy

the east is competitive this year. top 1-6 are all within two wins of each other and then a slight drop and 7-11 are within two games of each other as well. top ten teams are above .500 where the west only has six teams above .500

yeah 1-11 is 6 games in the east and 17 in the west

there’s a real chance we get bucks-nets in round two but also a real chance they get the 2 and 3 seeds and are split across the bracket

right now 538 has the projections as

1. heat
2. bucks
3. sixers
4. nets
5. bulls
6. cavs

but they have them all separated by about a game basically so doesn’t feel very reliable at this point. would be a rough draw for the bulls, among other things

the wolves are .500 at the halfway point of the season, so far things have gone better than I could have hoped and I don't think it's a mirage at this point

They have 3 really talented offensive players and some pieces that fit better. Pat bev is good for them I think, every team needs a goon

if KAT has plans to stay there for a while i don’t think they really need to be thinking much beyond what kind of team you actually wanna put around KAT & edwards. hopefully KAT realizes that they don’t give out trophies for having your best friend on the team and let’s them move on from russell at some point. prob the scariest thing for their future would be KAT implying that his happiness there relies on russell’s presence. the entire rest of the roster also prob needs to be turned over… vanderbilt is pretty nice. they’re going to need a good/creative GM bcuz they’re not a free agent destination and are not gonna be picking in the top 10. but when you have two guys like KAT & edwards you have something resembling the foundation any team is looking for so you’ve at least accomplished step one. but it’s also not like KAT has like another 3 years to wait around and build, dude is 26. so idk. making the playoffs certainly better than not tho and will be much more exciting to watch them than the clippers, blazers, kings, pelicans, spurs etc

KAT & edwards kinda remind me of beal & wall a bit, where you have two super talented guys but is there the…. idk, oomph in various aspects that you need from your two main guys to really push it into the upper stratosphere. i could see them making the second round in the next few years, i could also see it topping out there if the team around them never gets properly built out. edwards could be better than beal tho and KAT is better than wall was, so maybe you need less, but you’re also in a harder conference than those days in the east.

you could also look at them kinda like booker & ayton and so it’s like, where are you getting your bridges type player, and where are you getting your chris paul. the aging star vet part is prob easier than finding the awesome two way wing player. making a great GM hire and a-rod & the other new guy not being disaster owners would go a long way.

Ant needs time is the problem, if Kats willing to be patient then it could work in 3-4 years. Unlikely

Russell has played really well this year though, and far better on defense, he's been better than ANT on the whole

Jord life is fleeting, they are on pace to improve by 20 wins this year I'm going to enjoy it

people talk about Ant and KAT because of highlights but this team, but they are winning on the basis of improved team defense. last year they were 25th overall and currently at 15th.

the other thing people don't talk enough about is Chris Finch, he is a real coach, he's great after the game and his completely overhauled defensive scheme is to thank for a lot of this year so far. His coaching and the clear respect he gets from he team is huge.

as far as ownership this was definitely the first "not Glen Taylor" decision they made, hired Marquise Watts from Klutch as "chief experience officer" to focus on helping players get marketing deals, etc and trying to make it a more attractive destination for free agents. can't really change the weather though. probably just want some connection to Klutch.

no one could understand the forbes signing over here either. my guess was it was a favor to him to get him a decent contract in the offseason and then try to send him to a playoff team which they did. he's one of their rose-up-from-the-gleague undrafted success stories and they like to take care of their own.

and honestly i know juancho hasnt played much but the spurs desperately need a legit PF and juancho at least has the right size for it, worth kicking the tires on this season imo
