2021-22 NBA "REGULAR" SEASON THREAD

Talk about a well regulated militia.

embiid was insane last night & has prob been the best player in the league the last two weeks. i think they said on TV that he has over 30 points in each of his last 10 road games. the problem ultimately is i don’t think he can carry that much of a load for a whole season and then do it for 3 or 4 straight playoff series, i don’t think he’s built for that stamina wise. but he may singlehandedly drag them into the top 4

speaking of, it seems unlikely — or is at least very very tenuous — that the bucks and nets get the 1-2 seeds this year which makes the east playoffs pretty fascinating

He scored 30 8 games in a row, had 25, then scored 30 again last night. Generally been making much better decisions and handling the ball a lot since their guards have been in and out for weeks.xp

I heard Woj say recently he was thought simmons more likely to happen in off-season at this point, but who knows.

zach lowe has been saying the same thing and it’s likely true if morey really is going to refuse to trade simmons for anything less than a bonafide star. does not seem like that player is going to be on the market. but also up until like… a week ago it didn’t seem like the sixers had a chance to be competitive in the east this year but maybe embiid will force daryl’s hand.

morey is mishandling this imo, feel like hes weakened simmons' trade value by stubbornly clinging to this idea that hes a blue chip trade asset worth godfather offers.

like how necessary was simmons to their previous success if they are basically in the same position w/o him, how valuable is a guy who has not played nba ball in almost a year and when he did he was afraid to score on trae young in the post, etc etc

the new thing ppl are saying now is that the sixers are gonna pursue harden in the offseason either as a free agent or in a sign and trade, and deteriorating james harden playing in philly on a 45 million per year contract or whatever sounds really funny so i hope that happens

the thing about trading simmons for "a star" is under the best of circumstances is very hard to trade a star for a star, im sure morey must know this

If Embiid is healthy at the deadline, I absolutely would do heyward plus and go for it this year.

he would be a great fit for them but on the other hand he is gordon hayward

I have basically no investment in the sizers decision but I do think it would be funny to not trade simmons and make him continue to do this pouting shit indefinitely

there was some hilarious reporting somewhere recently that it’s finally dawned on the sixers that simmons being owed a shitload of money over the next 4 years *may* be harming, not helping, his trade value.

Other recent reports have been that Morey is trying to move Harris as well as Simmons, which sure I guess Morey likes making his own life even more difficult.
