hny! wishing you all a 2022 of thunderous dunks and frenetic hoisting

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 January 2022 17:41 (four years ago)

I know the Lakers are losing a lot but what Lebron is doing at his age is fucking insane

frogbs, Saturday, 1 January 2022 18:07 (four years ago)

hope he plays until hes 40 tbh

class project pat (m bison), Saturday, 1 January 2022 18:11 (four years ago)

dont see why not will give him time to get the alltime scoring title too

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 January 2022 18:22 (four years ago)

he can play w bronnie too

class project pat (m bison), Saturday, 1 January 2022 18:28 (four years ago)

going back to cleveland and forcing them to draft his son would be the perfect cap to his career

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 January 2022 18:50 (four years ago)

He’s already proven to be one of the worst GMs in league history so why not.

And yeah he’ll be playing until he’s 40 unless something happens to him like what happened to Kobe with the injury.

Spottie, Saturday, 1 January 2022 19:14 (four years ago)

and i bet bronny will be worse than shabazz napier too

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2022 19:31 (four years ago)

yeah, is bronny even supposed to be nba-level good? last i checked he was 6'3" and more like a nice d1 prospect. not that that would stop gm lebron, but...

circles, Saturday, 1 January 2022 19:34 (four years ago)

speaking of hilarious nepotism did I mention that the blazers rolled out a late afternoon Friday NYE press release that the very good and beloved coach Chauncey Billups hired a new assistant and it is his brother

Clay, Saturday, 1 January 2022 19:39 (four years ago)

the recruiting rankings have bronny as a top 50 player in the 2023 class which def puts him in potential NBA player range but is far from a guarantee that he’ll even be good enough to be drafted at all. given that he’s bron’s son i feel like there’s a 100% chance he at least plays in the G league, some team will bring him into their organization somehow just to get close to bron. but maybe he’ll be good enough to make it onto a roster just off merit

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:04 (four years ago)

who is the best player in NBA history that had a son play in the NBA who was also legitimately good

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:04 (four years ago)

Bill Walton probably. maybe Hardaway? though Jr. ain't really someone you want starting

frogbs, Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:09 (four years ago)

THJ not as good as sr. but hes def starter quality for the last few years, hes a good pick

class project pat (m bison), Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:17 (four years ago)

kenyon martin jr another guy looking like he might stick around in the league

class project pat (m bison), Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:18 (four years ago)

just need to give bronny some growth drugs get him up to 6-6 and hell be good

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:18 (four years ago)

cant forget the splash brothers too, though that reverses the father/son role we're describing wrt to bron/bronny

xp

cant forget what the beatles once said 'all u need is drugs' (420 remix)

class project pat (m bison), Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:19 (four years ago)

walton is a good answer. luke was not very good but he did have a 10 year career. hardaway jr and martin jr are prob better (well THJ def is) but their dads prob aren’t even in the conversation for the best 200 NBA players of all time, walton is one of the top 75 players ever and prob top 50 or better all time in terms of talent. dell curry was a nice role player but i’m trying to think of the offspring off freakishly talented players. guys that uniquely good don’t really ever have great basketball playing sons it seems like

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:23 (four years ago)

happy new year ilh! here’s to great hoops in 2022.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:26 (four years ago)

another middling nba father / great son thing would be jellybean and bean

Clay, Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:43 (four years ago)

jellybean and meatbean

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:44 (four years ago)

happy new year to y'all. this reg season is looking pretty rough-edged, but it will all sort itself out in the 'offs.

more difficult than I look (Aimless), Saturday, 1 January 2022 20:50 (four years ago)

Arvydas and Domantas Sabonis would be pretty good answer if including Arvydas’ international play

that's not my post, Saturday, 1 January 2022 21:04 (four years ago)

who is the best player in NBA history that had a son play in the NBA who was also legitimately good

It’s obviously Rick Barry

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 1 January 2022 21:42 (four years ago)

Brent Barry in Seattle was an excellent role player, extremely efficient

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 1 January 2022 21:44 (four years ago)

yeah that’s a good one

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2022 22:20 (four years ago)

good call.

BB would probably be shooting 7-9 threes a game if he played in this era.

Spottie, Saturday, 1 January 2022 22:21 (four years ago)

arvydas & domantas might be the best father/son combo, or at least the most balanced

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2022 22:22 (four years ago)

Horace Grant / Jerami Grant
Nance / Nance Jr

for consideration

Spottie, Saturday, 1 January 2022 22:27 (four years ago)

hardaway jr and martin jr are prob better (well THJ def is) but their dads prob aren’t even in the conversation for the best 200 NBA players of all time,

― J0rdan S., Saturday, January 1, 2022 1:23 PM (one hour ago) bookmarkflaglink

hard disagree on tim hardaway here. pretty easily top 200 and could make an argument for top ~125

Spottie, Saturday, 1 January 2022 22:44 (four years ago)

horace is jerami’s uncle but it looks like jerami’s dad harvey played in the league and had 3 straight seasons where he put up 18 ppg with 6 or 7 rebounds. was also the 12th overall pick. pretty good pair

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2022 22:47 (four years ago)

lol i thought they were father and son this whole time... bison yellow card me now

Spottie, Saturday, 1 January 2022 22:49 (four years ago)

lol u r forgiven my son

class project pat (m bison), Sunday, 2 January 2022 00:47 (four years ago)

class project pat (m bison), Sunday, 2 January 2022 00:47 (four years ago)

Spottie, Sunday, 2 January 2022 01:24 (four years ago)

micah, Sunday, 2 January 2022 02:39 (four years ago)

demar does it two days in a row, in two different years

symsymsym, Sunday, 2 January 2022 02:48 (four years ago)

both ridiculous shots both buzzer beaters, crazy

lag∞n, Sunday, 2 January 2022 02:51 (four years ago)

DeMar DeRozan is the first player in the history of the NBA to win games at the buzzer on consecutive days

The only other player to win consecutive games at the buzzer was Larry Bird on January 27 and 29, 1985

Sources: Wood was benched to start the loss to Denver after missing a mandatory COVID-19 testing window. Lucas called out entire team at halftime, and focused on Wood's effort level. Porter had a heated exchange with the longtime assistant, and drove out of arena at halftime. https://t.co/24oAwV2GqC

Uhhh hope this kid gets the help he needs before it’s too late

Rockets point guard Kevin Porter Jr. lost his temper during a heated halftime discussion and didn’t return to the court, leaving the Toyota Center during the second half of tonight's loss to the Nuggets, sources told @wojespn and me.

ESPN story coming soon.

Not good

Spottie, Sunday, 2 January 2022 05:21 (four years ago)

Sources: After Rockets assistant John Lucas called out multiple players including Kevin Porter Jr. and Christian Wood at halftime tonight vs. Nuggets, Porter had a heated exchange with Lucas, threw an object and promptly left the arena – and Wood refused to sub into second half.

Horace and Harvey Grant are identical twins. Harvey was decent, was on bad teams.

Oldest trick in the tanking book - won a few too many games? Piss off your players enough that they’ll refuse to play for you

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Sunday, 2 January 2022 21:28 (four years ago)

Let’s be honest, KPJ doesn’t have the rope to do shit like this. Second time he’s pulled this act in a very young career.
