- at or above career averages for 3PT%, assists/100

I don't subscribe to stathead but apparently only 3 players have averaged 35 points/100, 15 rebounds/100, and 10 assists/100. jokic currently is at 40.3/20.9/11.1

dovetails with the recent ringer & athletic articles about how you can’t simply shot quality your way into good offense anymore bcuz every team knows to hunt threes and dunks/lay ups so more value is being placed on players who can consistently make “low quality” shots

obvs a lot of value in being able to consistently create ok shots too

its crazy everyone who agrees steph is the greatest shooter but i still feel like its underrated how much better he is than everyone else

isaiah thomas and talen horton tucker shot 2-24 and 0-14 from three last night. combined six points, four assists and three rebounds in 57 minutes

THT has been completely awful this year & may singlehandedly rank the lakers season given the guys they let go or didn’t acquire in order to keep him

The chart graphically shows that Dame has been having a horrible start to his season, up until a couple of games ago, AS ANYONE PAYING ATTENTION ALREADY KNEW. Amazing to me how the tweeted responses suddenly decide that Dame's worst ever run of games means he has never been anything but a pile-of-crap player. Hmmmph. Casuals.

nuggets net rating with jokic on the floor = +10.0
nuggets net rating without jokic on the floor = -15.0

its crazy how good he is and how bad the rest of that team is right now, not fair 2 judge with their #2 and #3 best players out, but damn. he shd be mvp again but unless they have a better record ppl will sleep on him bc he won it last year.

jokic has been definitively better IMHO and if he puts together an entire season like hes played so far he should absolutely win the MVP award but will prob not since he got it last year and there are other guys having great seasons too

the problem w/ the argument of “he won last year and now he’s even better” is that it ignores that last year every single one of his competitors for the award got hurt and missed significant time and so he kind of won by default. also that giannis was shadowbanned from the race.

statistically at least jokic is lapping the league, and is doing it with his two best teammates out, which i suspect giannis couldnt were you to trade him for jokic, however if you put joker on the bucks theyd score 200 points a game and still have excellent D, interestingly the team that would prob be better with giannis is the healthy nuggets

kinda funny that the bucks finally got over the top by giannis playing bigger now hes back to being an exclusively face up player again why is center giannis a break glass in case of emergency situation idk, celtics had him pretty bottled up before pooping out cause half their guys are in safety and protocol, and they didnt even have any players active who match up with him, marcus smart was guarding him half the time, so i think giannis still has the same questions about his game as always, unless you get him rolling to the basket then hes unstoppable lol

you could argue that jokic is statistically lapping the league *offensively* which btw i wouldn’t agree with but there’s the other side of the floor where giannis is on a completely different level, which is no shade at jokic who is def better on defense this year but giannis is capable of things on the defensive end that nobody else in the NBA can match & he does it every night. he has an ability to physically overwhelm games that puts him above everyone for me
