3 back surgeries in 5 years could go a lot of ways but definitely one of the ways is you decide you don’t want to have massive back pain anymore and you’ll get paid 200 million dollars to not have it

well, the league has to agree that the injury is career ending in order for the contract to get wiped off the books. it's not like a player can just up and walk away w/ his entire contract and the team can just choose to write it off and everyone goes on about their day. the heat had to wait 2 years in between chris bosh's last game and when they were able to waive him and clear his contract. we're a long way from that. he's not even ruling himself out for this season
