2021-22 NBA "REGULAR" SEASON THREAD

Here's the most alarming part about the Lakers' 10-11 start: they've had the softest schedule defensively and yet they rank 20th on that end of the floor. After tomorrow, they'll have played HOU 2x, OKC 2x and DET 2x. Only team in NBA who will have played the worst 3 offenses 2x.

I have been hopeful about the Wolves being in the mix for the play-in game, but to be .500 at 20 games in and in the 7th seed is amazing. I'm sure that things will shake out eventually, but they are just a better team than they have been since the one year with Butler.

also, and I've been a huge hater, but Dlo is playing really really well

The Lakers seem absolutely bad enough to miss the playoffs. They’re just pretty bad every game and why would that change?

it's not about how bad they are as much as it is about how bad the worst of the west is.

i've had a busy week but wanted to swing by and congratulate the lakers for beating the pistons by 4 at home

lakers could play a lot better than they have so far and they are currently in 6th in the west, like ad will probably not be the worst shooter in the league for the whole season, but on the other had they are a prime candidate for injuries because theyre such an old team, can they miss the playoffs? what are we even talking about when we say the playoffs these days? the play in games are not part of the playoffs i guess so then you might have these one or two games that decide if you "make the playoffs", kind of weird, anyway i think theres a good chance that they end up in the play in games, unlikely they finish totally out of all playoff and playin activities without a lot of injuries which of course are possible

yeah idk maybe espn has some pretend in season tiebreaker where the team with more wins gets to be first cause the lakers are 11-11 and the other teams are 10-10

Lakers have played a lot of bad teams and it’s usually an epic struggle to beat them. They’ve been bad.

yeah I think I read somewhere that the Lakers have actually played the easiest schedule so far? idk they're just reminding me a lot of the Kobe/Pau/Dwight/Nash Laker team where everyone assumes they've got too much talent to crash and that they'll figure it out eventually but they just seem so slow and labored in everything they do. in fact they actually seem like a good candidate to get worse as the season goes on since they're all so banged up already. unless AD goes supernova idk what other teams are supposed to be afraid of.

i think the most likely outcome for them is they finish in one of the play in spots, win a game to get into the actual playoffs and then lose in the first round. even if they got the 6 seed i think they would lose — the top 3 in the west are clearly a cut above the rest of the conference and i think all 3 would beat the lakers. even in the best case scenario imo they get into the 4-5 game, beat someone like dallas, clippers, or denver, and then lose in round 2. they’ve stunk the whole year and westbrook has been a postseason anchor ever since he stopped playing with KD so i don’t see a lot of playoff upside
