micah, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 07:32 (four years ago)

this is the first quote about the new ball from a player, that I’ve seen anyway. Wonder if it’s affecting dame and others who are slumping

“Not to make an excuse about the ball, but it’s a different basketball. It don't have the same touch/softness that the Spalding ball had, and you'll see this year. It's gonna be a lot of bad misses.”

Paul George was asked about the ball. He’s shooting 49% FG & 41% 3PT. pic.twitter.com/PW0y7IjaxC

micah, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 09:21 (four years ago)

I can’t believe they changed the ball again.

Sooo many ominous passages for the Lakers in this article, beginning with this one:

The Lakers’ starting lineup didn’t last even two weeks. Against the Rockets on Sunday, Frank Vogel replaced center DeAndre Jordan with guard Avery Bradley—a move that

James’s free throw rate is three times as high with Westbrook off the court.

yikes

lag∞n, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 20:23 (four years ago)

In his career, LeBron’s a 34.5 percent 3-point shooter; in four seasons with the Lakers, he’s at 34.9 percent. Since he became a Laker in 2018-19, he ranks 84th in 3-point accuracy out of 109 players with at least 750 attempts. (Westbrook ranks last over that same span; Davis, if he had enough attempts to qualify, would rank second to last. There’s a reason opposing teams are packing the paint against this lineup.)

mens rea activist (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 2 November 2021 20:32 (four years ago)

lots of concerning things in that article especially lebron’s shots at the rim and FTr trends, you hate to see it!

mens rea activist (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 2 November 2021 20:33 (four years ago)

i can’t remember a year where i had absolutely no read at all on what’s going to happen in the west. has there been a season in the last 20 years where it’s been more wide open? i already feel pretty strongly that the lakers chances of winning the west are minimal but i have no idea at all who i would nominate as the favorite. feels like it could be one of like 6 or 7 teams, very odd

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 2 November 2021 20:40 (four years ago)

maybe this is the year the jazz finally do stuff in the playoffs

mens rea activist (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 2 November 2021 20:44 (four years ago)

alternatively jamal murray comes back 100% and the denver nuggets win the nba playoffs, fulfilling a prophecy

mens rea activist (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 2 November 2021 20:44 (four years ago)

i’ve just been operating under the assumption that kawhi is not going to play at all this year regular season or playoffs but given the state of the west i feel like he needs to seriously think about playing bcuz they could easily make the finals

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 2 November 2021 20:46 (four years ago)

Drummond has been busting his ass on defense this year for some fucking reason

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 20:48 (four years ago)

fighting for another payday im sure

It's the Final Cluntdiwn (Spottie), Tuesday, 2 November 2021 20:50 (four years ago)

pippen quotes are always so salt. im sure this one is true tho.

Scottie Pippen says Michael Jordan put out "The Last Dance" because he didn't want younger fans calling LeBron the GOAT.

lebron is the goat

ciderpress, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 21:11 (four years ago)

i'm enjoying the weird old Lakers team! I can really care less about them winning the chip this year but it would be cool to see what they look like if at all healthy come the playoffs.

(•̪●) (carne asada), Tuesday, 2 November 2021 21:20 (four years ago)

lebron put out "Space Jam: A New Legacy" because he didn't want younger fans calling MJ the MTHCOAT (meanest to his children of all time)

nunn and THT should help but not that much. melo prob not gonna continue to shoot 50% from threes either.

It's the Final Cluntdiwn (Spottie), Tuesday, 2 November 2021 21:46 (four years ago)

totally agreed about the Lakers, I don't really want them to win but I'll be glued to the TV when they're on during the playoffs

frogbs, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 21:48 (four years ago)

i shan't watch the lakers before the conference finals

ciderpress, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 21:50 (four years ago)

yeah i do not find them too interesting more of a slog TBQH

lag∞n, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 21:53 (four years ago)

this heat squad is fun

It's the Final Cluntdiwn (Spottie), Wednesday, 3 November 2021 00:14 (four years ago)

the heat look like they’re playing playoff basketball in terms of effort and connectivity while their opponents are on game 6 of the season. idk how long they can keep it up for but they know how they wanna play and have a lot of unselfish guys. and herro has been going crazy

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 3 November 2021 00:41 (four years ago)

looking like bubble herro

It's the Final Cluntdiwn (Spottie), Wednesday, 3 November 2021 00:42 (four years ago)

last year they tried to put him in the starting line up and it messed up his mojo. he's always been destined for the bench microwave role, he just looks more comfortable and confident this year, plus stronger

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 3 November 2021 00:48 (four years ago)

bubble was a weird ahead of schedule blip

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 00:49 (four years ago)

a portent if you will

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 00:52 (four years ago)

also it gets forgotten (understandably so bcuz most ppl don't remember tyler herro rookie season pre bubble) but he added skills in the break between the regular season and bubble that year specifically in terms of pick and roll facilitation and creativity around the rim. he was clearly on a heater in the bubble but also if you had watched him closely his game had grown. last year i think was a classic combo of sophomore slumping + being banged up most of the year + being an annoying white so ppl were eager to make fun of him for not scoring 30 ppg

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 3 November 2021 01:09 (four years ago)

i hate it when people make fun of me for not scoring 30

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 01:10 (four years ago)

you were going off in the bubble

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 3 November 2021 01:11 (four years ago)

League needs to step in and do something about the Pistons

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 01:13 (four years ago)

is herro still doing all of this on jumpers? that's what i wonder about as far as it being sustainable.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 01:20 (four years ago)

a lot of it but he also has perfect shooting form

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 3 November 2021 01:28 (four years ago)

has good floater touch too

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 3 November 2021 01:28 (four years ago)

if you hit enough jumpers soon you will get some layups, the golden rule

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 01:30 (four years ago)

Cade Cunningham is the first player in NBA history with 8+ field goal attempts and a sub .150 field goal percentage in each of his first two career games.

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 01:54 (four years ago)

saadiq bet was 2/13 and cade was 2/14 goooooood stuff. pistons will for sure challenge ye thunder for the bottom tank spot

It's the Final Cluntdiwn (Spottie), Wednesday, 3 November 2021 01:57 (four years ago)
