I forget it a lot but Brook is really important for the bucks

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 1 November 2021 12:35 (two years ago) link

so zion gets scanned again in 2-3 weeks to see if he's cleared to start practicing. seems like this is going badly.

call all destroyer, Monday, 1 November 2021 18:25 (two years ago) link

yeah you know when youre dealing with time until next scan its not ideal

lag∞n, Monday, 1 November 2021 18:39 (two years ago) link

what a miserable awful season they're having, have to wonder how badly he even wants to come back and play for them

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 November 2021 18:44 (two years ago) link

Just trade him for picks

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 1 November 2021 19:08 (two years ago) link

The Celtics picked up the fourth-year option on guard Romeo Langford for the 2022-2023 season, source tells ESPN. He was the 14th overall pick in the 2019 Draft.

— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) November 1, 2021

i wonder if he will score 15 points in a game before this option kicks in

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 November 2021 19:26 (two years ago) link

wow rude

lag∞n, Monday, 1 November 2021 20:37 (two years ago) link

the drop off that happened right at the langford spot in that draft is pretty crazy

10. Cam Reddish
11. Cameron Johnson
12. P.J. Washington
13. Tyler Herro
14. Romeo Langford
15. Sekou Doumbouya
16. Chuma Okeke
17. Nickeil Alexander-Walker
18. Goga Bitadze
19. Luka Šamanić
20. Matisse Thybulle

i guess you'd prob rather have alexander walker or thybulle over langford at this point but it's not like you can necessarily blast ainge for how this played out. you really have to go all the way down to 28-29-30 with Jordan Poole, Keldon Johnson and Kevin Porter Jr. to get to like an actually exciting prospect

lol retired guys with nothing to lose egging him on

lag∞n, Monday, 1 November 2021 21:03 (two years ago) link

the jalen smith stuff is nuts that they're giving up on him this early. not sure "james jones executive of the year" is going to hold up to scrutiny...

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 November 2021 21:17 (two years ago) link

he got lucky that chris paul still had something left in the tank.

It's the Final Cluntdiwn (Spottie), Monday, 1 November 2021 21:38 (two years ago) link

didn’t korkmaz get an option declined and then just ended up signing back with the sixers for cheap? wonder if it could be something like that.

still a pretty bad pick.

supposed to be auto ejection if you throw the ball like that

from hollinger's column today:

Before you ask, the Suns can’t do any shenanigans here. They are limited to offering Smith the same $4.67 million as a free agent next year (ditto for Memphis and Culver), so if he somehow proves us all fools and has a big year, Phoenix will almost certainly lose him. (This is also an extremely rare endgame: The last time this happened was Solomon Hill with Indiana in 2015, and I don’t think the Pacers sit around ruing the day they let him walk.)

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 November 2021 22:02 (two years ago) link

yeah hill just happened to get minutes in a short playoff run and hit a bunch of shots, then regressed to his mean immediately after

micah, Monday, 1 November 2021 22:08 (two years ago) link

n.b nate mcmillan has implemented "his offense" with the hawks and it sucks. surprise!

funny to think that if theyd all just gone to the knicks theyd be demigods by now

if they had gone to the knicks durant would've torn his other achilles, harden would weigh 270 pounds, and kyrie would be living w/o electricity in the hudson valley

btw per this article my memory held up well about kurkan--3rd-year option declined and then re-signed for 2 years at the minimum. not sure how this sitch is different from jalen smith's from a cba perspective: https://www.inquirer.com/sixers/furkan-korkmaz-sixers-free-agent-signing-20190724.html

good call on that.

It's the Final Cluntdiwn (Spottie), Tuesday, 2 November 2021 00:08 (two years ago) link

ohhh i get it now, they can offer him no *more* than the 3rd year option number, but can offer less.

if that happened after they won a playoff round theyd still be ny legends

lag∞n, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 00:40 (two years ago) link

about an hour and a half ago the raptors were down 15 to the knicks and i was gonna post that it was feeling like a bit of a lost season for them and then they immediately started kicking the knicks ass and won by 13. career high 36 for OG

ciderpress, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 01:51 (two years ago) link

he looks excellent. if his offense is this consistent he’s gonna make a bunch of all star teams going forward xp

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 2 November 2021 01:52 (two years ago) link

uh yeah i was gonna ask… so, the celtics… bad?

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 2 November 2021 01:55 (two years ago) link

they just don't have a true #1 scoring threat unless tatum can take another step up. in the meantime this iteration was supposed to be a good defense medium offense team but the defense has been outright bad

ciderpress, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 01:58 (two years ago) link

i think on most teams tatum would qualify as a #1 scoring threat.

from what i have seen the issues have been poor team defense, getting nothing from smart and richardson, and not getting enough from rob in an expanded role.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 02:00 (two years ago) link

rob has looked okay to me but richardson has been replacement level yeah

ciderpress, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 02:05 (two years ago) link

they are only 6 guys deep again despite the retooled roster

ciderpress, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 02:06 (two years ago) link

there is no reason for richardson to be playing over nesmith at this point, that's an easy one to fix.

more broadly they still don't seem to have any organizing principle on offense which is how these runs snowball so easily on them. when they try to be unselfish the result is turnovers and when they're more selfish the result is bad shots. no one ever just settles things down.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 02:11 (two years ago) link

blazers getting hosed by the sixers minus embiid and harris is a choice

Clay, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 02:15 (two years ago) link

is it just me or has Lillard been kinda bad

frogbs, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 02:20 (two years ago) link

he's averaging 18.3-3.5-8.3 on 35% shooting and a disorienting 23% from three (13-56 for the year), he's been worse than i've ever seen him through any stretch of games in his career including his rookie year

Clay, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 02:22 (two years ago) link

i don't think a guy like him can do much but try to shoot his way out of it but at some point if it doesn't fix itself he's gonna get the yips and then lol look out

Clay, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 02:23 (two years ago) link

Hey so uh. Franz Wagner

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 2 November 2021 02:24 (two years ago) link

has Lillard been kinda bad

yup. he can't seem to find the bottom of the basket rn.

more difficult than I look (Aimless), Tuesday, 2 November 2021 02:31 (two years ago) link

Lillard's worst FG% stretches in his career came during two periods:
- An 8-game stretch in late January 2015 where he shot 31% from the field and 23% from 3
- An 8-game stretch in March and April 2016 where he shot 32% from the field (but 33% from 3) https://t.co/8edf4hF0bu
