i saw something somewhere suggesting that based on past preseasons, their offensive performance so far is enough to give their offensive projection an actual bump of a point or two per 100. which is interesting but ultimately i'd have to say the sample size is small enough that it should just be tossed in the trash.

i "like" the bulls moves this summer but as like a respectable 8th seed

i dont think their preseason performance is too meaningful escpailly considered as jordan said the teams they played didnt have their guys, but their lineup does have a bunch of guys and if theyre going to run so they can do as many different pick and rolls as possible i love it

yeah and i don't think anyone who was critical of their offseason was saying they wouldn't have a good offense, it was more that they are at risk to have a very bad defense and have mortgaged a measurable amount of their future for a team that won't threaten to contend.

i havent really followed what exactly their offseason moves were, the vooch trade was def awful, but now that were here i support their vision

it’s true — i mean, they will be *better*. it’s almost impossible for them not to be and if they aren’t their GM will be a season away from getting fired. but the justification for their moves is tied to the idea that lavine is as good or better, and idk. i just need to see it in a real season, i don’t trust a lot of the shooting numbers from last year. julius randle at the top of the list for me.

the only thing i’ll say for the bulls is a lot of ppl (me included) were making basically the same exact argument against the hawks last year — yeah they got better but how much better really? and then they were much better, at least after they fired their coach. nonetheless the bulls still look like a play in team to me

Simmons is generating so much messy drama that Kyrie must be beside himself with jealousy.

i think morey might have been on the right track here. like, simmons value wasnt going to decline much as he held out longer - so why not just sit tight and wait for the right offer?

it also sounds like simmons has cut out rich paul to an extent. or rich paul wants to appear to be more critical to "negotiations" than he actually is.

i’m not sure simmons’ value changes much in either direction at this point. i feel like in general we know the strengths and weaknesses of simmons game pretty well, highly doubt he is going to unleash a new jumper on opening night. it is really all about whether a team decides it wants to pay whatever price morey is asking before the pressure gets too much in philly and daryl blinks first. i doubt daryl is planning on blinking first so he’s rolling the dice on the team being good, doc keeping the locker room in check etc and other teams feeling like he is willing to ride the situation out until they come to his level. this also all assumes simmons plays and isn’t showing up as a technicality just to get paid
