i think they'll continue to be a strong regular season team and he'll prob work fairly well for them in that context. but the playoffs are a different ball of wax so we won't really know until we know

They were willing to pay Jerami Grant 20m a year and Gordon is slightly better than Grant so I guess from their perspective it’s just a reload on that

Also Grant was a role player chafing against his role and wanting to be a centerpiece. Gordon has gone through the experience of Orlando trying and failing to make him a centerpiece, and is presumably excited to be more of a role player. Better living through team chemistry

imo theres def room for gordon to be better than he was last year just via getting to know the team/his role better joining midseason is tricky, also randomness

i'm also honestly curious what kyrie trades are out there that actually make sense for the nets. it's not like they're in a position where they need to be recouping assets, they're all in. if KD plus one of the other two are healthy they're prob title favorites, if all three are healthy they're prob overwhelming favorites. they already have a plus plus shooter, already have one of the best wing players in the NBA... what's the trade that makes them better

unless they just feel like they can't rely on him to even show up which is a possibility but if that's the case it's hilarious that kyrie would box them in by just saying he's gonna retire if they trade him lmao
