The Bulls, Cavaliers and Trail Blazers are close on a three-team deal sending Lauri Markkanen to Cleveland, Larry Nance Jr. to Portland and Derrick Jones Jr., a first-round pick and additional draft compensation to Chicago, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) August 27, 2021

Jones was a bust in PDX. Maybe Nance will be a better fit.
― it is to laugh, like so, ha! (Aimless), Friday, 27 August 2021 17:04 (four years ago)
excited to see him in a new role/team
― pure rim rest (Spottie), Friday, 27 August 2021 17:10 (four years ago)
they had to throw away a 1st to get off a bad contract they signed tho. not good.
― pure rim rest (Spottie), Friday, 27 August 2021 17:11 (four years ago)
i can’t make heads or tails of this deal except that the bulls getting a first for a guy they didn’t want anyway is pretty good. nance gives the blazers some beef i guess, ppl have been swearing that he’s been really good the last few years. the blazers do love trading first round picks tho jeez. i thought lauri was a great buy low candidate this summer but i don’t think the cavs really bought low and now they’re heavily invested in an overcrowded front court paying lots of money to two players who are only going to suck up minutes that should be going to the one player who could maybe turn the franchise around. gilbert/altman might be the worst owner/GM combo in the league
― J0rdan S., Friday, 27 August 2021 17:37 (four years ago)
the blazers are certainly in fuck it mode with picks and nance does make them better. not sure why the bulls didn't just take nance themselves.
― call all destroyer, Friday, 27 August 2021 17:42 (four years ago)
given how many firsts the bulls have lit on fire to assemble their team i think this is good for them
― J0rdan S., Friday, 27 August 2021 17:53 (four years ago)
yeah i could see them just wanting a first back even if it's lottery protected for 7 years
― call all destroyer, Friday, 27 August 2021 17:54 (four years ago)
i bet it conveys this year but i guess if they trade dame before next offseason that one could drag out indefinitely
― J0rdan S., Friday, 27 August 2021 18:10 (four years ago)
the blazers are certainly in fuck it mode with picks
they have a first ballot HOFer in Lillard and zero chance to land a big name talent in the free agent market, so trading away future picks is just about their only path to short term improvement. five years from now they'll suck be known as a 'scrappy, blue collar' team.
― it is to laugh, like so, ha! (Aimless), Friday, 27 August 2021 19:08 (four years ago)
that is an odd trade, feels like rearranging deck chairs
― think “Gypsy-Pixie” and misspelled. (We are a white family.) (forksclovetofu), Friday, 27 August 2021 20:57 (four years ago)
nance is in fact one of the best role players in the league, but portland needs more than that. bulls made off pretty nice, cavs *shrug* who tf knows
― class project pat (m bison), Saturday, 28 August 2021 00:15 (four years ago)
It could work out for all 3 teams but Cavs are the ones wilding
― Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 28 August 2021 00:18 (four years ago)
I am excited about the bulls. When I returned to the midwest last week, they were also excited about the bulls. Nobody thinks they will win a championship, but it is interesting, the bulls.

Rajon Rondo plans to sign a one-year, $2.6M deal with the Lakers upon clearing waivers today, sources tell ESPN. He agreed to a contract buyout with Memphis on Saturday. Nuggets should grab Deandre
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 30 August 2021 19:18 (four years ago)
i agree. not much drop off after jokic as you can just run the entire offense thru deandre in the high post and let him be a distributor. and if his man sags off he can just pop out for three

Ben Simmons tells #Sixers brass he no longer wants to be a Sixer and does not intend to report to training camp, according to multiple sources. https://t.co/17X1XfkzZO via @phillyinquirer— Keith Pompey (@PompeyOnSixers) August 31, 2021

sixers seem to think theyre getting some huge haul for him but not sure any other teams think that, now this, ugly process folks

rough

question: is this the saddest trade demand of all time?
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 31 August 2021 19:49 (four years ago)
Everyone knows now what they get with Simmons. He's very athletic, talented and his game has exploitable holes and flaws. It's fine if he goes to another team. Probably best for him.
― it is to laugh, like so, ha! (Aimless), Tuesday, 31 August 2021 19:51 (four years ago)
i'm honestly pretty surprised he's taking this measure. does he not care where he ends up? he might end up in oklahoma city or some shit
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 31 August 2021 19:52 (four years ago)
how long does a charter from sacramento to LA take?
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 31 August 2021 19:54 (four years ago)
Philly fans turned on him. rn I don't think he does care where he goes.
― it is to laugh, like so, ha! (Aimless), Tuesday, 31 August 2021 19:54 (four years ago)
its weird cause philly has made very clear that they are already attempting to trade him

philly will have to pay a price to offload him and they've balked at what they've found his market asking price is. now he's forcing the issue. he really wants to be gone.
― it is to laugh, like so, ha! (Aimless), Tuesday, 31 August 2021 19:59 (four years ago)
i guess i didn't think the relationship was really ruined to the degree where ben would demand to be traded. they did finish no 1 in the east last year and i didn't think it was some crazy idea that they would run it back and see if it worked better
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 31 August 2021 20:05 (four years ago)
phillys thinking dame is going to fall in their laps which is not actually going to happen so maybe the demand makes sense
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 31 August 2021 20:08 (four years ago)
get them to move on to more realistic options
this is lining up to be lavine for simmons
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 31 August 2021 20:31 (four years ago)
That trade sounds like it's in the right neighborhood.

Source: There’s a high chance that Tyrese Maxey will be a part of any Ben Simmons trade. Rich Paul would like both of his clients out of Philadelphia.— Jason Dumas (@JDumasReports) August 31, 2021
A few local Philadelphia based organizations had planned on partnering with Maxey on some community events. They were told to cancel those plans. Paul would not like Maxey to grow roots in Philly if he could be gone.— Jason Dumas (@JDumasReports) August 31, 2021
you heard it here first, rich paul hates charity. also hates "communities"
― grove street (party) direction (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 31 August 2021 20:46 (four years ago)
Simmons should shut up and dribble . . . we know he's not going to shoot.
― Taliban! (PBKR), Tuesday, 31 August 2021 20:49 (four years ago)
I mean what a cry baby. Where does he think fans are going to cheer him shooting 30% from the line in the playoffs?
― Taliban! (PBKR), Tuesday, 31 August 2021 20:50 (four years ago)
it's too perfect. windhorst has been continuously dropping hints that something is up with lavine and his future. lavine signs with klutch so now klutch can pressure both sides. and chicago's offseason makes a lot more sense if they're planning for this. the last step is trying to pressure the sixers into doing it.
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 31 August 2021 20:58 (four years ago)
I would take LaVine at this point. Simmons can't play for the Sixers. Would like to get a pick or two out of Chicago if I could.
― Taliban! (PBKR), Tuesday, 31 August 2021 21:17 (four years ago)
getting lavine would be a coup for the sixers at this point. a team of lonzo, derozan, simmons would be hysterical, what the hell kind of idea is that
