OKC should offer him 4/80 and see if he accepts it for Galaxy brain reasons

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 3 August 2021 23:05 (four years ago)

5/125 is probably about right?

pure rim rest (Spottie), Tuesday, 3 August 2021 23:05 (four years ago)

spurs used up their cap space trading derozan, so its literally just okc now

class project pat (m bison), Tuesday, 3 August 2021 23:58 (four years ago)

whats schroeder gonna do?

pure rim rest (Spottie), Wednesday, 4 August 2021 00:04 (four years ago)

fire his agent

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 4 August 2021 00:07 (four years ago)

feel like he shd fire himself but u know what they say u cant fire the players

class project pat (m bison), Wednesday, 4 August 2021 00:08 (four years ago)

apparently drummond signed with the 76ers one year vet minimum.

hasnt embiid made a habit of flaming him every chance he gets?

pure rim rest (Spottie), Wednesday, 4 August 2021 00:36 (four years ago)

thats correct lol

class project pat (m bison), Wednesday, 4 August 2021 00:38 (four years ago)

drummond signing for the vet minimum, javale riding the bench for team USA, everyone trying to figure out how the nets might be able to dump deandre... a lukewarm summer for the matt armstrong all stars. alex len got a 2/7.5 deal from the kings tho so we'll put that in the W column

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 4 August 2021 00:50 (four years ago)

i’m visiting my parents who are on vacation and i’m going to choose to pretend that demar derozan didn’t just get like 30 million a year

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 4 August 2021 01:38 (four years ago)

i will deal with this reality sometime tbd in the future

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 4 August 2021 01:38 (four years ago)

Free agent C Hassan Whiteside has agreed to a deal with the Utah Jazz, @excelbasketball agent Sean Kennedy tells ESPN.

— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) August 4, 2021

?

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 4 August 2021 01:52 (four years ago)

seems like the opposite of what the jazz need but i don't understand the nba anymore has been the lesson of the last couple days

Clay, Wednesday, 4 August 2021 01:59 (four years ago)

teams just reaching in the bowl and scooping out some players

ciderpress, Wednesday, 4 August 2021 02:04 (four years ago)

whiteside is like gobert if he wasn’t good so i guess that’s something

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 4 August 2021 02:18 (four years ago)

they need a backup without favours around. i guess they dumped favours to sign gay and will pick up whiteside on the cheap

micah, Wednesday, 4 August 2021 02:39 (four years ago)

jazz should probably have tried to get a stretch 4/5 like a patrick patterson type

micah, Wednesday, 4 August 2021 02:40 (four years ago)

they also drafted a center in the first round last year who to my knowledge has basically never played

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 4 August 2021 04:39 (four years ago)

*coughs* rudy gay is a stretch five in small ball lineups

class project pat (m bison), Wednesday, 4 August 2021 11:33 (four years ago)

looks like Collins finally accepted the 5/$125

Heez, Wednesday, 4 August 2021 14:13 (four years ago)

they also drafted a center in the first round last year who to my knowledge has basically never played

I think he was injured most of the year. I loved him in college

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 4 August 2021 14:16 (four years ago)

Wait, Javale isn’t starting for the Olympic team????? He’s just on the Olympic team?!?!?

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 4 August 2021 14:16 (four years ago)

symsymsym, Wednesday, 4 August 2021 15:34 (four years ago)

pure rim rest (Spottie), Wednesday, 4 August 2021 23:07 (four years ago)

oladipo to the heat for one year on the minimum. apparently his ppl think he could be back by jan/february, the heat seem to think it will be more like march. in any event the primary motivation of the deal appears to be so that the heat keep his bird rights & can exceed the cap to re-sign him next season if they want to

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 4 August 2021 23:32 (four years ago)

pretty great for the hawks that trae didn’t ask for a player option on his extension

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 4 August 2021 23:34 (four years ago)

Watching Josh primo in summer league and he looks great but also a lot like the other excellent young guards they already have

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 5 August 2021 00:03 (four years ago)

spurs twitter is fighting over the notion that the spurs are planning to trade for ben simmons

class project pat (m bison), Thursday, 5 August 2021 00:27 (four years ago)

(one of those guards would be on the move to get simmons obv)

class project pat (m bison), Thursday, 5 August 2021 00:28 (four years ago)

pretty great for the hawks that trae didn’t ask for a player option on his extension

― J0rdan S., Wednesday, August 4, 2021 4:34 PM (fifty-three minutes ago) bookmarkflaglink

he seems like the kinda guy that wants to stay in one place for a long time? projecting a bit but theyve also already shown they can build a competent team around him, things looking up in atlanta.

pure rim rest (Spottie), Thursday, 5 August 2021 00:30 (four years ago)

KOC sounded like he likes all the spurs moves on the latest simmons pod. he also likes the derozan move tho so...

pure rim rest (Spottie), Thursday, 5 August 2021 00:31 (four years ago)

lol yeah. i mean it does make the bulls better in terms of shot creation/playmaking, and they have enough 3-point shooting around him to make that work. but its A LOT of money. that d is gonna be badddd

class project pat (m bison), Thursday, 5 August 2021 00:38 (four years ago)

hopefully pat williams turns into draymond this season

pure rim rest (Spottie), Thursday, 5 August 2021 00:40 (four years ago)

every article says caruso will play the d. From the bench i guess?

"Rocky Top" and "Funky Bitch" are songs I never look forward to (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 5 August 2021 00:41 (four years ago)

here is the spurs offseson so far:
*demar trade was pretty darn good for SA (picks and if they keep thad, he'll be a nice complement to their team)
*the primo pick is a mess until proven otherwise
*signing zach collins for 3 years just seems like such a huge unforced error
*not the hugest fan of mcbuckets but i get it. its just a lot to pay a backup, but he'll have solid trade value.
*re-signing bryn...spurs have six guards who can't play SF under contract, though i suppose primo and tre jones can go to austin full time.
*getting chandler hutchison and a 2RP for nothing, seems fine.
*they have 17 guys under contract rn, someone's getting traded or cut

class project pat (m bison), Thursday, 5 August 2021 00:48 (four years ago)

I think the Spurs moves are fine, Primo was a bold, gutsy pick from a franchise that has earned the right to do that sometimes. They have a lot of great young talent, more than people are admitting most of the time imo

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 5 August 2021 01:31 (four years ago)

They’re also a very experienced front office who probably had a good idea that primo wasn’t lasting to 20.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 5 August 2021 01:32 (four years ago)

Cam Johnson made draft reaches look good

symsymsym, Thursday, 5 August 2021 01:34 (four years ago)

in that part of the draft reaches are pretty excusable. giannis was a dice roll too! chances are better than not that even a “safe” or “good” pick in the mid to late lottery is not gonna be all that great

J0rdan S., Thursday, 5 August 2021 03:38 (four years ago)

yeah totally. nobody drafted after primo is anywhere close to a sure thing

symsymsym, Thursday, 5 August 2021 04:27 (four years ago)

Danny Green back to Sixers at 2 years/$20M. Seems like too much. He is not a starter at this point and he also looked washed during stretches.

Carlos Santana & Mahavishnu Rob Thomas (PBKR), Thursday, 5 August 2021 11:20 (four years ago)

At least the Sixers have an option in Yr 2.

Carlos Santana & Mahavishnu Rob Thomas (PBKR), Thursday, 5 August 2021 11:52 (four years ago)

xxpost re: primo, it wasnt that anyone guy was preferable (altho my preference on swing-for-the-fences picks are big wings bc guards are not as impactful on winning unless they are transcendently good). i just felt that knicks offering 19+21 gives you better odds to find a big player.

class project pat (m bison), Thursday, 5 August 2021 12:06 (four years ago)

weird how the 3s are better than the 2s...and 16-20 has more all-stars than 11-15, 26-30 has more franchise players than the 10 picks before. maybe just random effects of relatively small sample size tho

symsymsym, Thursday, 5 August 2021 15:06 (four years ago)

smart ppl like hollinger etc say that danny green is still a value player by their systems but i don’t like that contract i just don’t think you can put have him on the floor in high level playoff games he looks washed to me

J0rdan S., Thursday, 5 August 2021 15:20 (four years ago)

Source: Ben Simmons has cut off communication with basically everyone in the Sixers organization. Everything is going thru his agent, Rich Paul. Ben is open to going to the GSWs though he doesn’t have much leverage in the situation.

New York Knicks All-Star Julius Randle has agreed to a four-year, $117 million contract extension --- elevating his deal’s total value to five years and $140 million, his agents Aaron Mintz and Steven Heumann of @CAA_Basketball tell ESPN: https://t.co/4q7EfERHsw

i have received your missive and am overjoyed at the news

lag∞n, Thursday, 5 August 2021 15:49 (four years ago)

less than 30m per year for randle seems pretty fair
