yeah the redeem team game vs spain was really close and intense. got it down to like 4-5 points with a few minutes to go and bailed us out with 4 point play

pretty cool that these cohesive teams take out the usa super teams, familiarity with international rules/officiating etc obvs a factor too

any tournament with single elimination games can get pretty loose

coach k's college approach i.e. "your team is stacked, just don't lose to a worse team" might transfer better to international ball than whatever pop is used to

Also K could coach without worrying too much about politics cos he never had to worry about his rep as a nba coach or possibly coaching any of these guys in the future

jerami grant is not that long removed from being a role player himself. dray is spiritually a role player. but yeah a lot of 1-on-1 scorers. beal leaving is not a _good_ thing, but his role is duplicated elsehwre in the lineup. love getting replaced by mcgee is a good thing bc the latter can actually guard bigs.

yeah the issue is not really in role players its that they dont have enough star level 2 way players

javale will barely play. i think the bigger scandal is pop showing favoritism by taking keldon johnson over a number of other perimeter players.

its p sketch. i like keldon a lot. he's a heart and hustle guy, and he was already on the select team playing in the exhibitions (p well, i should add), so i think thats part of it. but he's also 21 and not going to be a "matchup" guy. im happy as a spurs fan that hes going to get this experience/exposure, and if i gave a shit abt this wackass country id be furious.
