― call all destroyer, Thursday, 10 June 2021 02:31 (five years ago)
lol yeah i just read the wikipedia lol and it occurred to me i had just read about him being traded for zhaire smith like an hour ago, didnt realize about all the philly stuff tho
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 June 2021 02:33 (five years ago)
i remember on draft night they were like "what a wonderful story" and then 20 minutes later they had to backtrack everything lol
― call all destroyer, Thursday, 10 June 2021 02:34 (five years ago)
haa feel like they should change whatever system it is that leads to a team drafting for another team cause of a trade
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 June 2021 02:37 (five years ago)

the bridges trade was one of the more incredible draft night scouting calls in recent history… the suns traded an extra first to get him. bridges was considered a better prospect but not by somehuge margin, it was a pretty aggressive bet and it ended up being a home run

chris paul vs austin rivers and campazzo is a classic “playoff mismatch”
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 June 2021 04:03 (five years ago)
Chris Paul has 17 points, 15 assists and 0 turnovers. He becomes the first player since 2014 to have that line in a playoff game, per @bball_refThat player was Chris Paul. He is 1 of 4 players to do it and the only one to do it more than once.Tonight is his 3rd.— Kellan Olson (@KellanOlson) June 10, 2021

yeah he is. remember when he was the philly local guy and they drafted him and then immediately traded him for a guy who isn't currently in the nba?
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 10:25 PM (yesterday) bookmarkflaglink
Lol, not just a local Philly guy, his mom actually worked in HR for the Sixers!
This all happened right after Colangelo flamed out and Brett Brown had total control of the organization for 5 minutes.
Bridges would literally be a perfect player for them right now.

also worth noting i guess that mjp looked pretty inured last night guess he had "lower back tightness (unrelated to previous injury)"
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 June 2021 15:21 (five years ago)
wasnt just the bad shooting either the suns were lighting him up on the other end

paul just playing out of his mind and providing the mortar that organization needs. i thought he was third in MVP consideration ahead of steph and behind jokic and embiid but i may have underrated him

crazy thing is hes prob not even fully healthy right now
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:19 (five years ago)
Booker is such a great complement to him with his ability to both run the offense and play off-ball so well.
― Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:31 (five years ago)
Booker running the offense I mean because when CP3 doesn't have a costar who can do that he always ends up trying to do too much.
― Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:32 (five years ago)
yeah have been impressed with bookers playmaking
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:34 (five years ago)
still weird that he doesnt shoot better from three
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:35 (five years ago)
tho he has been hitting them in the offs
hes kinda bad at pullup threes
― Spottie, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:40 (five years ago)
yup he has such a confident shooting stroke, seems like he should make more.
xxp to his playmaking - before the lil bastard cavalry arrived this year Booker avged over 6 assists per the last 2 yrs
really love their role players. It is such a well-constructed roster. Whenever Payne is in I always expect him to be the weak link and that they're gonna have to just gut through those minutes, but he's like actually good!
otoh it is tough to watch Facu forced to try (and mostly fail, so far anyway) to do so much more than would be his ideal role
― Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:40 (five years ago)
feel like every time ive watched booker play hes made at least one insane midrange shot and made it look easy but then hes consistently leaving fairly routine 3s short
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:43 (five years ago)
booker's midrange ability off the dribble makes him a pretty incredible playoff player. gotta be able to get to a spot and hit a tough pull up J in the offs still
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:44 (five years ago)
yeah hes def a guy who can create a shot when he needs to
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:45 (five years ago)
the thing that's great about the suns is they have 3 wing defenders so booker is never taxed on defense. the nets of all teams left would be the ones who could really expose him defensively the way other teams can't... if they face the jazz they'd prob just stick him on royce o neal? they match up nice w/ the clippers esp given that the clippers don't want to put a center on the floor
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:46 (five years ago)
this pass got me so hyped last night
This pass is unreal. Nikola Jokic fakes the fadeaway jumper and seamlessly hits the cutter. Incredible. pic.twitter.com/h24v0CehxA— Jackson Frank (@jackfrank_jjf) June 10, 2021
― Spottie, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:47 (five years ago)
yeah that was a great play
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 June 2021 16:48 (five years ago)
yeah that one was so pretty. i'm probably projecting but seeing that happen with barton specifically seems like a testament to how long their core has been together. murray, barton, millsap have logged so many minutes with jokic, they know what he's capable of. his is a good brain to meld with

this is why going into the playoffs i liked them. nothing they did all regular season was flukey. just a sound defensive team + two incredible half court shot creators + solid role players and vets. even saric was huge last night. they arent reliant on the three ball like the jazz and clips. the only thing that MAY be a little flukey is cam payne, but hes been doing it really since the bubble so this might just be who he is now. he really is fun to watch, one of the quickest first steps in the league and also that insane looking 90 degree body turn jump shot.
