he's been on bill simmons podcast like 4 times

the announcers pointed out something about his post game, he seems to actively avoid it once he starts missing FTs. I've noticed that myself, he'll attack, go 1 for 2 at the line a few times, then stop driving. I am guessing by this point whatever is causing his free throw issues isn't going to be solved and if that wrecks his confidence it's gonna be a big hole in his game.

agree with jordan about giannis’s next steps in development, I really can’t see him adding a reliable jump shot in the near future. historically free throw shooting is a pretty strong predictor of shooting talent and giannis is a 62% career FT shooter in the playoffs

his shot is just awful its crazy hes been working on it for years and thats what hes come up with, he like straighten his legs then leans back then shoots it its insane

yeah lebron's shot was really streaky for a while and he was often leaning in different directions, fading away weirdly etc but you could at least see the outlines of a legitimate form. giannis shoots like he's standing up from a chair and then doing a trust fall it's never looked right

against the heat last series he was consistently hitting this little baseline fade away that looked pretty good but then he was playing w/ tons of confidence so

yeah with that fade away he can get some rhythm

at a certain point you do have to just be like, fuck it i'm going to dominate, send me to the line if you want but my goal in this game is to dunk on your head repeatedly. go check out shaq's FT numbers in the playoffs, he was shooting 50% but going to the line 12-15 times per game. he didn't shoot less FTs in the offs compared to the regular season he actually shot more. giannis averages 10 FTs per game in the regular season and has shot 10 total FTs in this series.

it does underscore how insane it is that embiid shoots 86% from the line tho, wtf are you supposed to do

embiid went 14-15 from the line vs the hawks, 39 points. insane

jokic is a less traditionally dominant interior guy but he shoots mid 80s too, really tough to find a weak spot when they can score any which way

def. he shoots only 5-6 FTs per game but it’s understandable given how nasty he is when playing away from the basket. he’s indefensible for other reasons

jokic doesnt seek contact, hes not scared of it but he's so crafty in the way he scores he doesnt to have to resort to those tactics
