myles turner and sabonis are on 19m ea p/a which i guess is some kind of benchmark, considering sabonis signed his deal a year ago and collins will be making 31m under a max

what i would like to see is a comparison of contracts based on % of their teams cap etc so excluding bird rights $ etc

both them and the nets are the lil brother teams who have never won and it should be cool when new teams win but it isnt with them bc they are full of try-hard (or 5d chess try-hards like kyrie) mercenaries and also they dont really have suffering fanbases bc literally all of them couldve been fans of the more successful franchises but chose mediocrity so they deserve to be happy in futility

like one is the donald sterling racist team who got bought by one of the richest ppl on earth who turned up all the 2k sliders with his money and the other is a literal emblem of gentrification, they need to be sucky for life balance on earth

off the top of my head i'm fairly certain that none of the remaining teams have ever won a title

why? because some deep-thinking blazer fans want them to. those blazer fans would be willing to package up nurkic, cj and toss in zach collins as a sweetener. they'd like their answer before free agency starts, because those fans want to put together some more deals and they need to know where they stand.

on most nights when teams are just showing up to play the luka-zinger combo is killer (on offense anyway) but zinger is too easy to neutralize when teams are scheming in the playoffs. one of the main tensions of current NBA basketball is that a lot of what is efficient in the regular season doesn’t often fly in the postseason, the mavs need to realize that zinger has to be able to score in the post to be a weapon in the playoffs. carlisle is right but he’s also wrong

re: the ESPN piece - Interesting, but I always wonder how much to believe in these locker room drama/gossip stories. For instance, many of of those press conference quotes attributed to Zinger are open to interpretation, or timing.
