(spurs have like up to $53M in cap space this summer, no idea whats going to happen)

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 7 June 2021 01:03 (five years ago)

yeah seems like a good target for them, cant imagine the hawks not matching any offer he gets tho, cld see a sign and trade

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 01:11 (five years ago)

he's kind of a perfect fit for their needs (floor spreading scoring 4), his fit with capela is a promising comp for how he'd hypothetically slot next to poeltl, but i think atl will straight up keep him unless they can trade for like idk some actual all-star

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 7 June 2021 01:13 (five years ago)

They should give collins one of those front loaded deals

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 7 June 2021 01:18 (five years ago)

a lot of talk in Wolves-land about getting Collins (so not going to happen)

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 7 June 2021 01:34 (five years ago)

someone will max him out and the hawks will match my prediction

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 01:37 (five years ago)

max would be an overpay of course

micah, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:09 (five years ago)

idk i think itd be fine for him the first max contract is not that big and hes only 23

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:12 (five years ago)

hes put up impressive numbers every year, kinda got lost in the mix this season, but hes a player for sure

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:16 (five years ago)

i'm hearing that KAT is definitely heading to portland this summer, also i am hearing that from people who constantly carp about portland's defensive situation, i am thinking they aren't watching a lot of nba basketball

Clay, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:29 (five years ago)

myles turner and sabonis are on 19m ea p/a which i guess is some kind of benchmark, considering sabonis signed his deal a year ago and collins will be making 31m under a max

micah, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:29 (five years ago)

what i would like to see is a comparison of contracts based on % of their teams cap etc so excluding bird rights $ etc

micah, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:35 (five years ago)

i'm now officially rooting for a hawks vs nuggets nba finals. time to let the little dogs eat.

What's It All About, Althea? (Aimless), Monday, 7 June 2021 02:39 (five years ago)

i shan't watch a nets clippers finals, anything else is okay

ciderpress, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:41 (five years ago)

i dont hate the clippers they are neither appealing nor unappealing to me, i find them neutral

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:48 (five years ago)

nothing inspiring about them at all

Clay, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:49 (five years ago)

i vaguely like kawhi he is weird a cipher, i kind of dislike pg he is lame, they are a cursed loser team obvs a plus, love rondo of course, theyve got a bunch of other guys who may or may not be good at basketball at any particular time, idk

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:52 (five years ago)

the one cool thing about them i guess is theyre good at 3s

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:53 (five years ago)

both them and the nets are the lil brother teams who have never won and it should be cool when new teams win but it isnt with them bc they are full of try-hard (or 5d chess try-hards like kyrie) mercenaries and also they dont really have suffering fanbases bc literally all of them couldve been fans of the more successful franchises but chose mediocrity so they deserve to be happy in futility

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 7 June 2021 02:54 (five years ago)

like one is the donald sterling racist team who got bought by one of the richest ppl on earth who turned up all the 2k sliders with his money and the other is a literal emblem of gentrification, they need to be sucky for life balance on earth

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 7 June 2021 02:55 (five years ago)

off the top of my head i'm fairly certain that none of the remaining teams have ever won a title

Clay, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:55 (five years ago)

I agree, the nuggets should win

the nets i actively hate and will prob become a terrorist if they win

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:56 (five years ago)

oh philly duh xp

Clay, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:56 (five years ago)

sort of feel like KAT is a guy who needs a ‘new situation’, portland has a great track record with young 7 foot stars I say do it

k3vin k., Monday, 7 June 2021 02:57 (five years ago)

karl anthony towns, more like hardly after them, (hand) down

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 7 June 2021 02:57 (five years ago)

also the bucks xps

Clay, Monday, 7 June 2021 02:57 (five years ago)

none of the teams left have won it in a while, philly the only one in the modern era

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 03:00 (five years ago)

nets won 2 aba champs

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 03:02 (five years ago)

that does not count

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 7 June 2021 03:04 (five years ago)

it counts to me and in the end thats what matters

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 03:06 (five years ago)

i thought only kindness matters

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 7 June 2021 03:08 (five years ago)

is excluding the aba kind, something to think about

lag∞n, Monday, 7 June 2021 03:10 (five years ago)

that does not count

― class project pat (m bison), Sunday, June 6, 2021 11:04 PM (eight minutes ago) bookmarkflaglink

weren't you saying that we needed to count ABA accomplishments in some other context recently???

call all destroyer, Monday, 7 June 2021 03:14 (five years ago)

not for championships

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 7 June 2021 03:34 (five years ago)

points and shit are fine

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 7 June 2021 03:34 (five years ago)

i am not here to be consistent, only correct

class project pat (m bison), Monday, 7 June 2021 03:34 (five years ago)

the aba championships should count yes....................... if you're a frickin BOOMER

Clay, Monday, 7 June 2021 03:51 (five years ago)

why would the wolves trade KAT to the blazers this makes no sense to me

J0rdan S., Monday, 7 June 2021 03:55 (five years ago)

even as a rumor it's not really worth commenting on

call all destroyer, Monday, 7 June 2021 04:03 (five years ago)

why would the wolves trade KAT to the blazers this makes no sense to me

why? because some deep-thinking blazer fans want them to. those blazer fans would be willing to package up nurkic, cj and toss in zach collins as a sweetener. they'd like their answer before free agency starts, because those fans want to put together some more deals and they need to know where they stand.

but this is the 'offs thread and the blazers and wolves are out of the 'offs, so we need to finish up the details in the other thread.

What's It All About, Althea? (Aimless), Monday, 7 June 2021 04:11 (five years ago)

on most nights when teams are just showing up to play the luka-zinger combo is killer (on offense anyway) but zinger is too easy to neutralize when teams are scheming in the playoffs. one of the main tensions of current NBA basketball is that a lot of what is efficient in the regular season doesn’t often fly in the postseason, the mavs need to realize that zinger has to be able to score in the post to be a weapon in the playoffs. carlisle is right but he’s also wrong

According to Second Spectrum tracking, the Mavericks averaged 1.18 points per possession during the regular season when Porzingis set a ball screen for Doncic, the most efficient duo in the league to run at least 300 picks.

That success became irrelevant in the playoffs, when the Clippers consistently defended the 7-foot-3 Porzingis with a wing with the intention to switch every pick-and-roll. They dared Dallas to feed Porzingis post-ups, which Carlisle called "not a good play" and "a low-value situation" in response to criticism last season.

this whole piece on the porzingis problem is good

I was just making an oden joke. I do think he could use a change of scenery tho

k3vin k., Monday, 7 June 2021 09:34 (five years ago)

gosh that espn piece paints a grim picture. also didn’t realize the two of them weren’t friends

k3vin k., Monday, 7 June 2021 11:42 (five years ago)

sounds more like they actively dislike each other

Porzingis hasn’t really shown any development as a post player is the thing

re: the ESPN piece - Interesting, but I always wonder how much to believe in these locker room drama/gossip stories. For instance, many of of those press conference quotes attributed to Zinger are open to interpretation, or timing.
