nba playoffs aka the 'offs (which includes the 'ins) 2021

i'm literally the only person in the world fired up by this hawks team

i guess everyone suspects this is some fluke, but they've been playing this well since march.

hawks nets ECF is not exactly optimal outcome imo but i'm glad it's good for someone

hawks beating the sixers would be hysterical & amazing except for the part where the ECF wouldn’t be that tight

john collins still not doing himself any favors

agreeing with jordan; less about not wanting to see the hawks and more about not wanting to see them mope through an asskicking
still picking the pistons in that series

And they still have two young rotation players not healthy

if embiid is actually hurt then i dont think the sixers are getting through a ECF opponent either so the hawks winning is fine

Seriously most of the ppl I grew up with are more concerned about the braves

I can take a lot of shit but following the braves is like the 8th circle of hell for me

collins has felt kind of inessential in these games but his youth and the lack of great free agents in a summer where lots of teams loaded up on cap space should benefit him. if the hawks sign him they start to get pretty locked into this roster, trading him would be interesting. he kinda feels like the jeff green in OKC of this hawks team to me

Yeah his range would be missed. Okongwu looks like he’s gonna be something but he’s more of an interior finesse player. The Hawks have a lot of guys I’d rather her they save the money for unfortunately. They’re gonna have a lot of tough decisions coming up

collins is an interesting player, wonder who else'd be looking at him

spurs fans on twitter are obsessed with him

(spurs have like up to $53M in cap space this summer, no idea whats going to happen)

yeah seems like a good target for them, cant imagine the hawks not matching any offer he gets tho, cld see a sign and trade

he's kind of a perfect fit for their needs (floor spreading scoring 4), his fit with capela is a promising comp for how he'd hypothetically slot next to poeltl, but i think atl will straight up keep him unless they can trade for like idk some actual all-star

They should give collins one of those front loaded deals

a lot of talk in Wolves-land about getting Collins (so not going to happen)

someone will max him out and the hawks will match my prediction

max would be an overpay of course

idk i think itd be fine for him the first max contract is not that big and hes only 23

hes put up impressive numbers every year, kinda got lost in the mix this season, but hes a player for sure

i'm hearing that KAT is definitely heading to portland this summer, also i am hearing that from people who constantly carp about portland's defensive situation, i am thinking they aren't watching a lot of nba basketball

myles turner and sabonis are on 19m ea p/a which i guess is some kind of benchmark, considering sabonis signed his deal a year ago and collins will be making 31m under a max

what i would like to see is a comparison of contracts based on % of their teams cap etc so excluding bird rights $ etc

i dont hate the clippers they are neither appealing nor unappealing to me, i find them neutral

the one cool thing about them i guess is theyre good at 3s

both them and the nets are the lil brother teams who have never won and it should be cool when new teams win but it isnt with them bc they are full of try-hard (or 5d chess try-hards like kyrie) mercenaries and also they dont really have suffering fanbases bc literally all of them couldve been fans of the more successful franchises but chose mediocrity so they deserve to be happy in futility

like one is the donald sterling racist team who got bought by one of the richest ppl on earth who turned up all the 2k sliders with his money and the other is a literal emblem of gentrification, they need to be sucky for life balance on earth

off the top of my head i'm fairly certain that none of the remaining teams have ever won a title
