first off i love dame and CJ and the blazers. i think CJ is better than duncan robinson and stuff and tobias harris too but the blazers wouldn't necessarily be able to upgrade the roster so much as they could rearrange it. i don't think you're trading CJ w/ his contract for an all star level wing -- i just don't think it's possible. so it's more like, can we make our wings better and replace CJ's production w/ norm powell and another guard

i salivate at the idea of using simmons as a dedicated wing defender on a team that hasn't had a moment of wing defense in like 15 years or something

if the sixers are gonna trade simmons they'd be looking for, like, bradley beal or paul george or something. CJ is just a level below esp the way morey is going to look at it. maybe elton brand would've done it

did we ever learn what really was the deal with harden for simmons

Blazers have an amazing backcourt and constantly have churn and injuries in the frontcourt. It’s just that year after year. Somehow that has to stop or they blow it up and start over.

feels like they've had this team forever, they're probably on the inevitable downswing at this point

there's def a sense, at least among those i've talked to, that when CJ stepped out of bounds for a turnover late in game 5 that was basically it for this squad

def a strong sense that dame is gonna force his way out this summer (i don't buy it, people are just freaks for the drama)
