feel like they do have a window over the next year or two before the extensions for their young guys really kick in to give CP an insane short term contract like 2 years $100m or something but if he's like "give me 4/160 or i'm walking" he might put them in a tough position where their young guys are in their prime w/ this huge albatross contract weighing the team down

xp that actually feels pretty reasonable to me. he shaves $15 million off his salary next year to essentially accept a $30 million expiring 2 years down the road. i think the suns could do that and feel not horrible about it. that third year would be painful bcuz ayton, bridges etc would be making big money by that point but it's only a year and it's not out of the question that cp could still be useful to some degree
