if he’s gonna hit deep threes and midrange and make the right pass to an open shooter every time you swarm him he’s basically indefensible

yeah passing is so key to his game guys are scared to leave their mans to double him

just turned 22 a few months ago, you have to assume he's gonna be one of these guys who works on his game and adds something every offseason. never want to count your chickens but he is definitely on track for a LeBron-esque career

yeah the things hes done at his age are not normal, theyre not normal for any age!

It’s weird, before he came into the league, I thought luka would be more of a conventional wing and that his lack of elite running & jumping athleticism might limit him. but watching him now it feels like he’s really a big, high-scoring point guard and his skills are perfectly suited to it

hes such an unusual player as far as how he gets his points, he uses his great first step to get to the second level then kind of bullies and hesitates his way around until he hits any number of weird touch shots or perfect passes, his 3pt game is a little more in line with your elite high usage guys as far as a lot of dribbling leading into stepbacks and so forth

feel like i should mention his crossover too which is great and key to all this stuff

like that shot chart hes just scoring from all over the paint who does that

getting middle so constantly like that makes his passing work too

The game has changed, dirk shoulda shot more threes honestly. Kinda surprised cP hasn’t taken one of those spots from dirk, or derozan

at the time a lot of people myself included thought he should be taking more threes but the thing about dirks midrange was he could just get a good look from there all the time, prob one of the more reliable plays ever

Oh yeah that shot was automatic I don’t think a ton more threes just avg like 1-2 more per game and he prob woulda won some scoring titles

steph is universally recognized as the best shooter ever but feel like its not generally understood how much better he is than everyone else

hes so much better at shooting it puts him in the conversation for best offensive player ever

klay would be the missing link here, we'll see how he looks. trae young was fighting to get in this group somewhere but was 32nd in 3PA this year and 45th in 3P made (behind ppl like kyle kuzma, mike conley, andrew wiggins, brandon ingram) so he's changed his game up, prob for the better ultimately. he also doesn't have the volume from three but anecdotally i'd prob throw middleton in this group, he should shoot more threes

Obviously we can only speculate on what Klay will look like but based on his track record pre-injury he's sort of in his own tier, more efficient than Dame/Harden and more volume than the Joe Harrises of the world. Maybe that would put him at #2, though I'd probably slot him in between Dame and Harden given how much he has benefited from his context playing off Steph. And yeah, Steph really is amazing. So happy we got to see him back to himself this past year.

yeah guys who create their own shots have to go ahead of spot up shooters like klay, klay is the best spot up shooter tho

harden is frustrating cause hes such a great shooter but insists on taking only the most difficult shots

Harden basically breaks the algorithm, even now with however many years to imitate his thing, no one really plays like him. I'm not complaining. Glad Trae has shifted to a different track

oh yeah i misread that still much better than hes ever done before

wow the offensive numbers are really identical. but once you look at defense even the numbers make it clear they're not the same tier of player (not to mention "playoffs" lol)

yeah the defense makes a major difference. both need to keep improving their passing

feel like even tho their reg season numbers are the same tatums game is just so much more sound, and has more room to grow

and yeah the defense is obvs wildly different
