looks like the mavs have to beat one of the raptors or the timberpuppies, and the blazers have to beat one of the suns or the nuggets, AND the lakers have to beat the pacers and the pellies on a road back-to-back for the lakers to stay out of the ‘ins

If the Lakers go 2-0 to finish the season in their road back-to-back this weekend against the Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans and either the Portland Trail Blazers finish 0-2 at Phoenix and vs. Denver or the Dallas Mavericks go 0-2 vs. Toronto and at Minnesota, L.A. will enter the playoffs as the No. 6 seed. If the Blazers and Mavs both finish 0-2, the Lakers will be the No. 5 seed.

i can't find an article on this but i heard brian windhorst talk once on a podcast once about how much an owner (or ownership group) actually has to pay up front to buy a team, and i feel like i remember it being 50% or less than the sale price. i think they can pay the rest off over time using revenue, and there's all sort of bond and bank trickery these guys can use, taking on debt etc

even with all that seems like arod would have to put up all or at least most of his estate, doesnt really make sense
