That was a rough game for Steph, too

Fetchboy, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 04:26 (five years ago)

Small sample size, 4Q of the dubs - suns. The suns looked a bit confused + CP3 playing great, that can't be representative of their play this season, right?

that's not my post, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 04:35 (five years ago)

big win lakers, big loss kincks. really intense and dramatic if not exactly well played game

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 12 May 2021 05:06 (five years ago)

brow looked kinda hapless offensively but he’s also playing with 4 guys you basically don’t need to guard so i’m not gonna judge him too harshly

meanwhile on the defensive end he had julius randle in a straitjacket for like 15 straight possession spanning the 4th and OT. it felt like randle could’ve gone at him 100 straight times and not scored

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 12 May 2021 05:07 (five years ago)

Pacers held Sixers to 32 pts in the second half (albeit without Embiid).

I just feel like the Sixers are the favorites to win it all and most likely contender to go out in the first round.

Deicide at Chuck E. Cheese (PBKR), Wednesday, 12 May 2021 11:48 (five years ago)

not a great sign when the pacers bigs are sabonis and oshae brisset (g leaguer) with mcdermott starting at sf. and yeah i have no confidence that embiids improved offensive efficiency will survive a playoff series

micah, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 12:26 (five years ago)

re: the pacers chatter far upthread - because no one actually watches the pacers or follows them closely the narrative around the team (like for many small market teams) is chosen at random. this season rumblings of bjorkgren being a shit coach will be accepted the reason for their record. truth is more that they have been so extensively injured that i doubt even pop could have got them to better than the 7th seed

micah, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 12:40 (five years ago)

lot of injuries all over this year seems like, havent seen any numbers tho

lag∞n, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 14:25 (five years ago)

counterpoint: some pretty rough stuff in that bjorkgren article

lag∞n, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 14:28 (five years ago)

yeah he should still be fired if half of the article is accurate. no one has really backed him up since either beyond the usual polite noises. and i think he was originally a nepotism hire due to "iowa connections" so who gaf

micah, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 15:05 (five years ago)

jame hardens

James Harden intends to play in tonight's Nets game vs. Spurs.

The Beard has missed 18 straight games due to a hamstring strain.

Unfortunately I don’t really think TJ Warren will ever be able to stay healthy. It sucks because he really became a legit 2 way wing.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 15:54 (five years ago)

xp just in time since kyrie just got rocked in the face/head last night.

i was too much listening to your accent (Spottie), Wednesday, 12 May 2021 15:54 (five years ago)

Like yeah supposedly he had surgery to spite his coach but it was foot surgery. So something was wrong there

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 15:55 (five years ago)

yah Tj i think is just that guy whos always hurt.

i was too much listening to your accent (Spottie), Wednesday, 12 May 2021 15:58 (five years ago)

i think the intentional surgery rumour is incorrect. its extreme and quite glib and doesnt really match up.

looks like tj probably will always be injured which is a shame.

micah, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 16:15 (five years ago)

yikes

Heat guard Victor Oladipo will undergo season-ending surgery on his right quadriceps tendon.

wonder if he ends up taking a one year deal this offseason. i can’t imagine what he’d get trying to go multiple years after this. maybe the heat will give it to him. it seems like he’s just lost his touch on offense but he looked plenty athletic still and made for a good fit defensively with how the heat play

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 12 May 2021 21:07 (five years ago)

very bad that it is the same quad. i would definitely think 1 year, prove it deal.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 21:11 (five years ago)

the other thing with dipo is hes only had the one season of allstar level play

lag∞n, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 21:20 (five years ago)

the biggest issue for him is that he seems to have lost his ability to shoot. in all likelihood he can’t be the lead ball handler on a good team anymore but if you play him off the ball it’s gonna be a lot of clanked threes, so he’s just not bringing a lot of positive play to your offense. i thought he still looked useful on the heat because he was bought in and playing hard on defense and sharing the ball on offense the way that they run things, but it was a pretty specific scenario and even then it was like, well this would be nice on like... a $12 million a year contract or something.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 12 May 2021 21:43 (five years ago)

yeah seems like he still may think he can be and get paid like “the man”

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 12 May 2021 21:55 (five years ago)

oh man. mike breen got dropped from the hawks/wiz broadcast for a couple minutes which meant it was mark jackson solo. wrong time to be feeding an infant and not have any free hands to grab the remote.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 13 May 2021 01:21 (five years ago)

hey congrats bud!

Clay, Thursday, 13 May 2021 01:34 (five years ago)

also big congrats cad!

Clay, Thursday, 13 May 2021 01:35 (five years ago)

congrats cad!

i was too much listening to your accent (Spottie), Thursday, 13 May 2021 01:37 (five years ago)

Lol, congrats cad. Thought Jackson didn’t do anything too weird for those couple minutes, but an uninterrupted stretch of his talking started to remind me of that parody someone did years ago

circles, Thursday, 13 May 2021 01:53 (five years ago)

cad = dad

Clay, Thursday, 13 May 2021 02:33 (five years ago)

congrats cad! must be the season, we had a little girl yesterday.

micah, Thursday, 13 May 2021 02:49 (five years ago)

this oladipo situation was 100% forseeable. he'll be a minimum player in two years.

micah, Thursday, 13 May 2021 02:50 (five years ago)

congrats cad! must be the season, we had a little girl yesterday.

congrats to micah too, wow, what a time for our little board

blazers dancing on the jazz in utah kinda weird but jazz just can't hit a thing (9-34 from three, under 40% from the floor)

Clay, Thursday, 13 May 2021 03:50 (five years ago)

gobert looks a step slow around the basketball ring on d but he still has 15 & 20 so idk

Clay, Thursday, 13 May 2021 03:52 (five years ago)

i love when dame and CJ show up in big games it brings me joy

J0rdan S., Thursday, 13 May 2021 03:57 (five years ago)

congrats to both cad and micah what a wonderful time. playoffs and babies

J0rdan S., Thursday, 13 May 2021 03:58 (five years ago)

nurk doing a lot of high post stuff on offense and actually anchoring the d like he did back in 2018, seems to have changed things & vibes are noticeably pretty good on the court

Clay, Thursday, 13 May 2021 04:06 (five years ago)

i have the hardest time evaluating nurk. he does so many things i like but i don't think there are stats that back up my feelings.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 13 May 2021 04:12 (five years ago)

Nice to see the 16-53 Rockets pushing the world champion Lakers so hard tonite. I'd love to see them win it, but I know that's a 'big ask'.

sharpening the contraindications (Aimless), Thursday, 13 May 2021 04:17 (five years ago)

nurk is a feeling xp

Clay, Thursday, 13 May 2021 04:21 (five years ago)
