yes, it's unlike anything i can remember. he's a natural at on-ball defense which was somehow never a talking point when he came out of school.

one of the celtics athletics guys did a story recently about him and sounds like the celtics would like to use him as an evan turner type who can handle the ball and direct some offense without being a great shooter. that's a tough needle to thread, but if he keeps making plays on defense they'll just need to find ways to get him out there.

yeah i would recommend he just go ahead and learn to shoot

it has to be tough, there isn't much developmental space on this team for a guy to learn how to play on-ball. but he plays hard and seems to be happy to be out there.

We found out Jaylen was asked by C's staff to shoot more 3's on 3/22/21. Before then he was shooting 6.5 3PA at 38.8%, since then, he's shooting 8.3 on 42.6%.

However, prior, he was averaging 3.9 apg, and now that is down to 2.2apg. Makes sense considering his playmaking reads in mid-post were where he showed most growth as a playmaker.

chris paul is simply not having nearly a statistically mvp caliber season, 16-5-9 49/39/93 lol cmon, anyone crediting him with total responsibility for the suns record should consider that they won every one of their games in the bubble

yeah I love paul but I don’t think he’s be one of my top 10 candidates

i’ve heard paul for mvp at least twice in the discourse recently although one of those was one of the goober ex-players during a broadcast

they celtics have been so careful with their guys health this year which the particularities of this season considered is probably wise now lets see what they got

shorten the rotation play the guys get rolling IMHO

maybe even let kemba play a back to back is that crazy

i haven’t really paid attention to playoff seeding but if they needed some wins to secure a spot out of the play in or something i’d think about it.

theyre a game out of 5th and two out of 4th, and both the teams ahead of them knicks and hawks have been playing well, getting one of those spots and avoiding the easts big 3 in the first round would be good, also getting some reps/getting rolling would be good too

brad has shortened his rotations a few times this year when they were struggling and needed a win, including wednesdays game where he played 8 guys, so he def knows its possible

jabari parker’s an option too

yeah if you need bench scoring he can do some stuff, which is a good option to have for sure, but i dont think hes in the regular playoff rotation his defense is just non existent

semi romeo and kornet could also get some spot play but they all have such huge holes in their games that theyre prob more situational options

backup wing is def the problem spot, fourier can take some of those minutes but hes really more of a guard, semi can hit wide open 3s and play d, romeo can handle the ball a little and play d, hopefully nesmiths emerging play can continue emerging cause his game actually has all the stuff you want from a secondary wing hit a variety of 3s, play d, attack closeouts, keep the ball moving...

hes got size athleticism strength switchablity, ie the nba body

also hes scrappy as hell, im liking nesmith, but hes a rookie whos played mostly like doodoo this year so

with rob pritchard and nesmith dannys recent drafts are looking a little better, romeo could still be good too but he needs to stay healthy and actually play, so far just hasnt done anything at all on offense

parker, romeo and kornet have the potential to find playoff matchup moments where they might help win games
i would not be surprised if pritchaht has a breakout herro moment in the first/second round.

scal goes on about the weirdest stuff sometimes, like he just spent two minutes killing pritchard for not doing a good enough job boxing out jakob poeltl even though he clearly did his best and jakob is just a massive human being
