i think he was seen as a mid to low first round pick coming into the year and then really got hot at the end of the season for UNC. he was a super fun player and i thought maybe he could be a lou williams level sixth man... maybe he still can, the bulls recent track record of development is awful. but white doesn’t seem to have a great idea of how to be a positive player on lots of nights

markkanen was just horrible development. you can tell he has talent. the five guys drafted immediately after him were frank ntilikina, dennis smith jr, zach collins, malik monk, luke kennard so i don't think you can really kill the pick. (obv donovan mitchell and bam go right after those two but still). they just handed him over to fred hoiberg and jim boylen and now here we are.

wendell carter jr was a mistake from the jump, the idea that he would fit or develop next to markkanen never made sense. they went "best player available" and got bitten. white was prob just a bad evaluation.

really bad ownership there trickling down to bad management to bad coaching to betting the next three seasons on zach lavine and vucevic

i'm sure they're looking at the week off after the regular season and then a first round match up vs an overwhelmed opponent as the time when they'll get everything ironed out. if they can get the 1 seed they might not be challenged much in the second round either. there's going to come a time either in the east finals or the second round if they're in the 2-3 where it's the end of the game and they have a bunch of dudes standing around watching one of their guys try and win the game 1 on 1... we'll see if it works
