the silliest part of this whole charade is that neither drummond nor blake are getting traded, they're getting bought out.

cld see someone taking drummond and sending back another bad but not as bad contract but yeah theres no hope for blake unless the pistons want to send out assets with him

dont see why toronto wouldnt pack up their expirings and throw in a second to get a year of him. worth a shot.

how do you buy out blake if he has a team option for next year?

v curious to see what contender is interested in Blake as he is, even if he happily adjusts to playing less than 20mpg, he has to be a net negative on the floor

xp 2 reasons: many-to-one trades are really hard to execute in season, and they would have to include at least one guy who is a better player than andre drummond.

I think the grizzlies used one for the iggy trade then flipped him for winslow and others

trade exemption is just like an expiring contract but better, it doesnt have much value just makes trades easier

The thing about MPJ is that he does dumb stuff but the on court reaction from players when he does it is MISERABLE. They don’t like him, they don’t support him, they don’t get excited when he makes a great defensive play (which is happening more often). In general there are very bad vibes.

I don’t even think it’s a huge catastrophe, he needs a change of scenery and the Nuggets will be well compensated if they do it.

It seems like the nuggets got really nice players in Hampton and Nnaji, trading Porter for a veteran makes a lot of sense even if they didn’t hate him

you know who’s a guy who’s turning 36 soon and having a really nice season is chris paul

Remember like 8 years ago when Chris Paul’s knees were reportedly arthritic and his career was ending soonish

he really did looked cooked at the beginning of last season but he leveled up pretty quick.

poison pill provision kinda makes this impossible til next season, but white would fit in so well in den, least of all bc hometown kid. can play on or off ball, pairs nice with anyone in the backcourt. gives you harris' D skill but can shoot.

i think a lot of teams would still be pretty enamored with his offensive potential. i wonder if any of the teams that red flagged him medically would revisit that.

3 first round picks might be high but it would def need to be 2 firsts if a player like derrick white is the main piece coming back
