have to admit jimmy is a guy I've underrated his whole career, just could not get a hold on his value with the injuries and drama shit but clearly when locked in he's a top 15 player

i have said this before but anything that happened in the bubble should probably just be excluded from analysis going forward.

think the nets very clearly are gonna win the east, on account of having the best players

Embiid is playing so well right now and is not getting any younger I kind of think the Sixers if healthy at the deadline should be all-in on the next 3 years, meaning trade young guys and picks if you need to. They need another scorer. In another 3-5 years they probably will need to process again.

The only thing giving me pause is the East suddenly has a couple of tough teams in Brooklyn, Mil, and Bos, though all are flawed (as are the Sixers). Based on names alone you have to think the Nets are the favs.

I guess he would put one of Danny Green/Seth Curry on the bench, but he doesn't shoot 3s so I'm not sure he is what they are looking for. Maybe?

Pretty bad imo. Also averaging .1 blocks per game which makes wonder about the whole athleticism deal

His rebounds are also way down. No reporting on it yet... but I’m starting to worry. Could be the rona effects.

Oubre is 36/22/77 which is much worse cos the dubs need his scoring so badly.

also gets harder to keep yrslef revved up and locked in at extreme draymond levels especially when the team isnt that good

Oubre was 1/11 in his revenge game last night vs the suns missing half their roster idgi I thought it was the whole being extorted by his x for 3 million but he’s only had like 2 good games since that story broke

Tracer. 50/40/90 is the ideal benchmark that only gets hit maybe by like one player for a season.

Average across nba is 46/36/76 or so

thanks! have never drilled into these stats. baseball stats i know by feel - tenths of a percentage point will make a difference - but this stuff i never really think about in this way

i guess i do remember the great FT shooters hovering around 90% - that's one i do know

yeah 40% from 3 is kind of a talisman, tho obvs how you get those shots/how many you take matters a lot too

apparently jaylen brown is hitting 57% of his midrange jumpers, which he is taking twice as many of

yeah saw that, almost surely unsustainable, but that doesnt mean he cant hit them at a good rate like 45-50%, cause he def is generating good looks

as for the extra attempts from that range, his scorings gone from 20 last year to 27 this, gonna be hard to make that jump while keeping yr shot distro to only the finest shots

tho all this is prob somewhat academic cause with kemba and jayson back theres gonna be fewer shots to go around and he can be more judicious

whether that trio ever really figures out how to play together idk yikes, wld be cool if kemba could be more of a distributor but his game is really about just going balls out and idk if it will work for him to try to do something different, they can obvs stagger their minutes but in crunch time you want them to be working well together, which over a year into their relationship, tho really not many total games due to many injuries, they still have no idea how to do, theyre kinda all iso players

lol in NBA2K the canned commentary always says, when referring to boston's opponents, "they're going to try to make kemba shoot the ball instead of be a creator, they think that's the key to containing what he brings to this offense" which is like the opposite of what you're saying (and i think what you're saying is right, from what i've seen of this season)

One thing is clear about Jaylen tho: he really is a very good three point shooter. Which considering his other gifts makes him an all-star.

did anybody explain on this thread what the hell is wrong with oubre? like is he just bad or

theres no explanation. he just cant buy a bucket. he's probably never been so open so maybe its messing with his head. his energy and defense is still good but i think he's dumb as rocks. 20 games in and he still has no idea where to go/be on the offensive end... which is horrible in a read and react offense. he's also allergic to passing the ball. i think he has something like 2-3 assists to curry on the season...

his stats just don't make sense to me but kerr appears to have committed and seems to think he'll figure it out.

by any measure oubre is bad and not getting better. kerr "appears to have committed" because the front office committed him. kerr "seems to think he'll figure it out" because he is chained to oubre and cannot state what he is thinking without actively making the whole thing worse than it already is.

the spurs just beat the nuggets to move into 4th seed in the west, a thing i definitely thought would happen

I really really like the Spurs. I think people are way too skeptical about them.
