NBA 2020-21 reg season 1st half thread

he'd be a fine like team blogger and by all accounts he's a super nice guy but i don't really take him seriously as far as media guys i trust for analysis

lol, he's sort of the first "nba analyst" type that is younger enough than me that he starts talking about "how the league has changed" and "the way the game is played now" and i start thinking "are you sure about that, sonny?"

he's mostly okay, just kind of an odd choice to be the face of the ringer's basketball coverage.

they should come up with a way for NBA players to not hideously turn their ankles, just an idea

i have tiny baby ankles, i wouldn't stand a chance out there

a friend of mine badly sprained his ankle playing pick up in college and i still remember it sounding like a cinder block had been dropped on the court

someone should invent super ankles

one time i was playing tennis with my friend caitlyn who was a college soccer player and had rehabbed a catastrophic knee injury among other things, and naturally i rolled my ankle really good trying to move laterally. it was bad enough that i had to go to the ER but she was incredulous that i had never had a severe sprain before. that's when i learned that i have tiny baby ankles.

no one had ever judged my ankles! i felt very exposed.

a couple years ago i mildly sprained both of my ankles in HIGHLY stupid ways (1. helping a very big drunk guy up the stairs to his apartment, he slipped and landed with his entire weight on my right ankle; 2. coming down some stairs trying to protect my just-sprained other ankle i over-corrected and fell down about half the flight). this happened in two days. it was awful and very embarrassing!

Ugh Clay. I think reinjuring it before it heals fucks it up forever. I sprained rt ankle badly landing on a dude's foot in high school gym class, then reinjured it skateboarding when it was like 80% healed. Then when that recovery was 95% I played at janky outdoor court where the concrete ended right at the baseline with a couple inch drop-off to grass. 22 yrs later and it's still lil tender.

yeah it hurt like hell for quite awhile but mostly it was comic & pathetic like just being this grown ass middle aged dude waddling around everywhere slow as hell bc both ankles were basically deflated & useless, and they were relatively mild sprains (i had one really severe sprain 15 or so years ago and yeah that still bothers me)

bogdan bogdanovich is getting really banged up for the hawks. hurt his ankle earlier in the year and now has a knee injury. gallo's played 27 mins the whole season, rondo has played 31 minutes, kris dunn has yet to play

demar derozan might be an allstar in the west this year

if he's averaging 21-6-7 and the spurs are in the playoffs, kinda feel like he belongs

the celtics game got postponed because avery bradley tested positive and they weren't able to determine before tip off who on the heat counted as a close contact and thus wasn't eligible to play. or else they were going to make the celtics play w/ that scrimmage roster

RMDE! The Sixers had a positive test plus multiple players quarantined as a result plus Embiid and Simmons out and only qualified for the 8 player minimum because Mike Scott technically was off IR but unavailable. Look at the box score and tell me the Sixers didn't play with a scrimmage roster (1 starter, 1 backup and 3 rookies started - 2 of them on 2-way rookie contracts). Everyone played almost 45 minutes!
