lamelo had bust vibes only bcuz of his family situation imo. i think he has a pretty high floor — he’s elite at reading the floor and makes the right play a large percentage of the time and he’s big enough to hold up on defense. if his offense never develops he’s still ricky rubio at worst.

his scoring is so far ahead of rubio, i think hell be able to get to the rim at will pretty soon his ball handling and creativity are so sick

his shooting was really bad in australia but everyone who watched him much there was convinced of his very high general basketball talent

there were def a number of risks involved with lamelo and if he was in the current draft he prob would go outside of the top 5 but this past draft his competition had as many red flags as he did

eternal question, do u melo/joe johnson your way from one high paying gig to the next or do u david west it and sacrifice for wins i think we all know the right answer

russ age might catch up with him sooner than most people think

he's playing with a dislocated finger but the way he plays it's possible he's had dislocated fingers for like a third of his career, but yeah he's over thirty and the engine is gonna get rusty sooner than later

Russ has been cooked for a couple seasons now imo. He’s masked it a bit but no one is scared of that dude or scheming for him anymore (other than you know... let him shoot every time)

Lamelo looks good I admit but he’ll be capped if he can’t shoot... like the many amazing court visionaries who can’t shoot that came before him.

i think theres a good chance he figures it out like he can already kind of shoot despite having weird inconsistent form, thats called talent

i mean there were (and are) reasonable arguments against each of the top 3 guys but the fact that none of them is looking like a disaster is a good start. nothing more, nothing less.

That oubre thing happens many times per game. He seems clueless out there on offense

having seen oubre a few times now this year i worry he may just forever be a running around with no plan guy

edwards is clearly talented and has had some nice scoring games... albeit in lots of blowouts. he also doesn’t do anything but score, and he hasn’t done that with any sort of efficiency, all of which were concerns with him going into the draft. wiseman is obv a high level athlete for a center but his path to being a consistent offensive threat still seems pretty winding to me.

nobody looks like an anthony bennett level disaster, so that’s something. i think it’s easiest to imagine lamelo as an all around positive basketball player.
