If you have Harden and Jokic on the same team can you ever really trap Harden? You get Jokic going 4 on 3 at the free throw line a ton.

harden is one of the greatest scorers in the history of the game teams gotta at least consider this, i mean if he wasnt weird and bad in ways it would be a no brainer
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 9 December 2020 15:31 (three years ago) link
itd be hilarious if he got traded to utah
― Kompakt Total Landscaping (Will M.), Wednesday, 9 December 2020 17:08 (three years ago) link

Giannis Antetokounmpo, when asked about his contract, says: "Right now, I am not focused on that. I am just trying to focus on myself." He adds that he is leaving those discussions to his agent, Alex Saratsis, and the front office.— Malika Andrews (@malika_andrews) December 9, 2020

is his agent going to forge his signature or....?
It would be cool if Giannis just dedicated himself to having the bucks pay him a billion dollars in salary

I'm not thinking about the milwaukee bucks, I'm thinking about the giannis bucks

we're finding out how teams view harden
― Spottie, Thursday, 10 December 2020 16:24 (three years ago) link
i for one do not believe the heat will not really put herro in
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 December 2020 16:32 (three years ago) link
does jimmy want to play with harden? does harden fit the 'pat riley heat culture'
― Spottie, Thursday, 10 December 2020 16:35 (three years ago) link
i mean prob no to both but hes good at basketball the heat who made the nba finals btw would prob be better than they were before
― lag∞n, Thursday, 10 December 2020 16:44 (three years ago) link
i wonder if riley wouldnt like a chance to try to big dog harden tho lol

looking at him like if that guy just ran some wind sprints
jimmy & harden seems like a recipe for disaster

last time he was on zach lowe’s podcast le batard said the heat think herro can be better than devin booker. if they’re right there’s an argument to be made that the rest of harden’s career isn’t worth that — esp since herro has several cheap years left — but if they want harden (or beal) it’s hard to imagine that happening without herro being in the deal. they just don’t have another asset of real significance. but i think pretty much every team will be refusing to trade their best asset for harden right now, i doubt anyone is in a huge rush to get him. for the buyers it makes sense to wait it out and see if the price lowers as the situation gets more untenable, it’s not like the season pre-deadline matters all that much to good teams anyway
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 December 2020 17:15 (three years ago) link
yeah theyre clearly feeling out the market i mean who wouldnt want a great deal on 1 james harden

Pat Riley really messed up by missing the Cyber Monday sale on Harden

All-Star forward Paul George has signed a maximum contract extension with the Los Angeles Clippers that’ll guarantee him as much as $226 million over the next five years, his agent Aaron Mintz of @CAA_Basketball tells ESPN.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) December 10, 2020

I would like to place a bet that the Clippers aren't going to get past the Lakers into the NBA Finals this year, next year, the year after, the year after that, or the year after that.

― Spottie, Thursday, 10 December 2020 19:22 (three years ago) link
Clippers need to invest a whole lot of resources in figuring out exactly what stars aligned and what factors caused them to so align during that one great year PG had in OKC.
― Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 10 December 2020 19:25 (three years ago) link
and then uh figure out how to interlace those factors with whatever the hell Kawhi needs in order to be Kawhi without draining team chemistry.
― Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 10 December 2020 19:26 (three years ago) link
yeah that’s an awful deal from the team side for george
― k3vin k., Thursday, 10 December 2020 19:35 (three years ago) link
I think the clippers are in deep shit, players were desperate to leave in the offseason, their best player has really bad knees, lots of finger pointing. And they burned historic draft capital to do this.
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 10 December 2020 19:42 (three years ago) link
really good for the nuggets tho :) xp
― k3vin k., Thursday, 10 December 2020 19:46 (three years ago) link
it’s a bad contract but it’s also pocket change for ballmer & they’ll prob always be operating well into the tax. his body breaking down would be my main concern... i also don’t understand why they had to give him a player option
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 December 2020 19:49 (three years ago) link
ballmer hasn't yet internalized the extent to which the nba's CBA is designed to neutralize his deep pockets as a competitive advantage.
― Respectfully Yours, (Aimless), Thursday, 10 December 2020 20:00 (three years ago) link
that's not entirely true. the warriors have a huge competitive advantage having an owner who is willing/able to pay out a huge tax bill every year. basically all you have to do from a team perspective is juke the books to avoid the repeater tax but if you're willing to pay an extra $50m or $80m or $100m above the cap in a season there is nothing stopping you
Golden State tax bill is currently $66MThe addition of Kelly Oubre would see it increase to $134M$14.4M of Oubre + $68M in taxes= $82.4M— Bobby Marks (@BobbyMarks42) November 19, 2020
