PG is the ultimate trade piece of the star accumulation era insofar as he’s not good enough to be a no 1 but is (theoretically) qualified to be a very good no. 2. he was acquired by OKC and LAC to be a second banana to more established stars after he hit a ceiling in indiana and if he gets traded again it will prob be to a similar situation

give the general competitiveness in the east, i'm struggling to imagine a painfully optimistic best case scenario for the 2021 knicks: it's an eight spot and getting clobbered 4-1 by whoever the best team in the east is. if you wanna call that "win now"...?

I mean if I was a Knicks fan actually making the playoffs and taking a game off the first seed sounds 10x more entertaining and appealing than losing ~50+ games and having nothing but the 8th pick in a weak draft to show for it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Knicks are inexplicably and undeservedly still the biggest franchise in terms of market and overall valuation and Dolan will make millions either way; might as well put something less nihilistic to watch on the court than Elfird Payton, RJ Barrett, and 3 miscellaneous power forwards lol
