Gordon Hayward rumors: ‘He’s doing the Al Horford plan,’ & ‘something is mildly afoot here’ per ESPN’s Lowe Post podcast https://t.co/ce4NC4yjBS— John Karalis 🇬🇷 (@RedsArmy_John) October 26, 2020

didn't know his agent was bartelstein. if anyone can find a better deal for gordo than 1/34M, he can.
― call all destroyer, Monday, 26 October 2020 20:46 (five years ago)
listened to that pod they said something that i hadn't really thought about that 34M next year isn't really worth that much, a lot of it will be in escrow and probably won't get paid out due to revenue crunch, whereas a longer contract that pays out money 2 or 3 years from now is a lot more likely to be worth the stated value.

The biggest homer, going home at last. RIP.

one of my favorite heinsohn quotes is him talking about bill russell and boston to SI in the late 1990s. really cuts to it, shows you the kind of guy he was pic.twitter.com/o3ibeldydq— Jack Hamilton (@jack_hamilton) November 10, 2020

RIP, Tommy. The first Celtics game I ever saw on TV was during the last season Tommy coached. It's gonna be weird to watch them and not hear his voice.

waggling eyebrows
Sources: Boston and Charlotte have worked on a sign-and-trade for Gordon Hayward that would land Celtics a trade exception, but Hornets have first been trying to find a third team for Nic Batum's $27M contract to see if there's a way to avoid waiving-and-stretching his money.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) November 25, 2020

Boston has signed and traded Gordon Hayward and two future second-round picks to Charlotte for a conditional future second-round pick. Celtics also receive a trade exception.— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) November 29, 2020

when that trade exception comes off the bench to drop 12 and 7 per game, ayyyyyy

Celtics breaking their own news again, which has been an interesting twist to this offseason. Hayward TPE will be for $30 million it appears, the largest TPE ever created. https://t.co/uXiHxlcPda— Jared Weiss (@JaredWeissNBA) November 29, 2020

type of guy the celtics need "a big wing"
aaron gordonharrison barnesotto porter
i would hate each of them immediately but hey tell you what whatre you gonna do
― lag∞n, Monday, 30 November 2020 16:29 (five years ago)
they just removed my two most hated celtics so its ok
although im pretty sure i do not like tristan thompson, i am willing to approach with an open mind, he was an occasional beast with lebron getting every rebound dominating physically and so forth and is still not yet 30
― lag∞n, Monday, 30 November 2020 16:33 (five years ago)
celtics adding a guy like that after they got wrecked physically all playoffs is good imo
― lag∞n, Monday, 30 November 2020 16:37 (five years ago)
can we clone Kendrick Perkins
― Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Monday, 30 November 2020 16:42 (five years ago)
i think with thompson the hope has to be that getting out of cleveland results in some natural bounceback. he's not exactly what they need but he's been a great playoff player in the past so maybe they can catch some lightning in a bottle at the right time.
― call all destroyer, Monday, 30 November 2020 16:43 (five years ago)
at the very least he shd be available when theis is getting destroyed by a very big man, best case he plays well enough to take the starting spot
― lag∞n, Monday, 30 November 2020 16:45 (five years ago)
otto porter is good why would you hate him immediately
those other two i get
― ciderpress, Monday, 30 November 2020 16:49 (five years ago)
he just seems like a passive disappointing player, hitting 3s is good tho
― lag∞n, Monday, 30 November 2020 16:54 (five years ago)
hes like joe ingles, quietly does all the good role player wing stuff
― ciderpress, Monday, 30 November 2020 16:57 (five years ago)
hes pretty much a non entity on offense besides the shooting tho
― lag∞n, Monday, 30 November 2020 17:07 (five years ago)
fwiw it would somewhat complicated for them to trade for him too cause although he would exactly fit into the trade exemption well ill just c&p this
When the Celtics use the full mid-level exception on Monday to formally sign Tristan Thompson to a two-year, $19 million deal, they will invoke the hard cap. That means they cannot complete transactions that would put them above the tax apron at $139 million. Not including Javonte Green’s non-guaranteed $1.5 million, the Celtics are about $22 million under the hard cap. So to use the full $28.5 million trade exception, they would need to include an additional chunk of salary to ensure they stay below that hard cap.
and the celtics dont have any guys besides theis making $5m a year so youd have to do something like
