yeah, i think just chasing AD to the wing would have been easier than executing that switch and had a chance of disrupting the key to the play, which was the extremely easy inbound pass that materialized.

i think thats considering the context one of the worst defensive plays ive ever seen

pointing at the guy to switch while you just slow down and stop playing isn't the best look

i am starting to think that if the nuggets could replace plumlee's salary with an equivalent good player they would be the favorites. it's an insane amount of money for a backup center who also sucks.

If you presume a switch what he did makes sense but that is not what occurs

yeah I have come around on plumlee, I think the nuggs are obviously going to let millsap walk and with porter presumably starting at the 4 they probably can’t afford to let plumlee walk too? tbh I haven’t thought about it much

they can keep plumlee if he takes a $10M paycut, his contract is absolutely insane

Millsap is essentially retired, plumlee still an elite backup. Probably too expensive tho. I think you gotta pick a PF/C in the first round and hope he and Bol can make do

I’d be a little concerned about the big depth if plumlee left, given MPJ’s history

have no idea what to think about bol other than I’m excited for some regular season stuff. seems like he has some pretty defensive limitations unless he puts on some weight tho

I think Bol is gonna be an olynyk type, the 15 mpg backup who occasionally takes over a game

But he’s pretty unique, I guess Porzingis is the closest comparison in raw talent

It looks like he really can shoot which makes all kinds of things acceptable (also true of olynyk)

There’s some stat that has Jerami Grant as the worst player in the playoffs and I’m pretty sure it’s a broken stat. His defense vs Kawhi was really important. Maybe it’s a function of guarding the other team’s best players?

On a recent episode of the Lowe Post they were talking about how the Nuggets were really hurt by Grant's poor rebounding (zeroing in on him, an ostensible power forward, having 0 boards in Game 2 vs the Lakers). ime a lot of catch all stats tend to over-account for rebounds as much as they under-account for defense. So that could explain it.
