is that an actual rumor? that would be a good team for him yeah

ciderpress, Thursday, 3 September 2020 22:38 (five years ago)

i guess i assumed he was old enough that he'd hang it up once the rockets don't want him anymore

ciderpress, Thursday, 3 September 2020 22:39 (five years ago)

too proud to go out like this.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 3 September 2020 22:40 (five years ago)

Well yeah...Shaq/Kobe also probably had a +5 point advantage in that they were going to get 2-3 calls that the other club won't. That BS that went down in the series with the Blazers, Pacers and Kings leads me to think of them as illegitimate. People forget now, but I know I was not the only NBA fan that went f-k it and quit watching it at that time because the calls were so suspect.

D'Antoni seems to be perhaps more of an influential coach than successful as I do think he was the guy that cracked open the NBA in using that European style open offense, which has become like the 'west coast offense' in football, everyone has to adopt to at least some point. That said, he always seems like a coach that has to force his club into that shape and when he was in the Lakers and Knicks, he could not make it work as he did not have the people to fit. To me, while I can acknowledge what D'Antoni has brought in to the NBA, I think of him as a lesser coach than say others including Billy Donovan this year and many others that could change their style and make it work to what type of players they had. Then again, all D'Antoni has to do is win it all and all is forgiven and he will be an all time genius. It could happen I suppose.

seems like via reporting that hes indys first choice, doesnt seem like anyone knows what dan tony wants tho

lag∞n, Thursday, 3 September 2020 22:51 (five years ago)

I like the idea of a guy named Mike Dan Tony <insert last name here>

alpine static, Thursday, 3 September 2020 23:24 (five years ago)

the last name is chris paul

ciderpress, Thursday, 3 September 2020 23:31 (five years ago)

ehhh i think 2 years ago is a good example of d'antoni showing the ability to adapt his style for the roster, that team played really slow paced iso ball and almost made the finals

ciderpress, Thursday, 3 September 2020 23:34 (five years ago)

actually i'm not quite right about that, they were middle of the pack in pace, but still

ciderpress, Thursday, 3 September 2020 23:35 (five years ago)

the difference between how that team played and the previous year is night and day, he was absolutely not running the same system

ciderpress, Thursday, 3 September 2020 23:36 (five years ago)

Players get better when they play for D’Antoni which is the main thing you want from a coach

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 3 September 2020 23:39 (five years ago)

I think the big problem he had in LA is that kobe was very stubborn and there was nothing really to improve with him. And the injuries obviously

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 3 September 2020 23:40 (five years ago)

I think Indiana has potentially the best starting 5 in the NBA, I’m all in on them

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 3 September 2020 23:41 (five years ago)

d'antoni does one thing really well imo which is cede control of the offense to a superstar player.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 3 September 2020 23:43 (five years ago)

my friend met m0nte m0rris at the phx airport pre covid and he said he likes denver ok but he really wants to play under dantoni

Spottie, Friday, 4 September 2020 00:36 (five years ago)

fucking insane play by kemba. pure magic.

they didn't think he could get a pass over there

call all destroyer, Friday, 4 September 2020 01:16 (five years ago)

if theis had done a layup instead of a dunk would that have burned the last half second?

ciderpress, Friday, 4 September 2020 01:16 (five years ago)

no hating here but this is a great point

No way Kyle Lowry gets that pass off with the normal room on the sideline. Bubble effect.

The NBA! It’s fan-tastic

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 4 September 2020 01:18 (five years ago)

crazy ending rude of toronto to spoil kembas amazing play

lag∞n, Friday, 4 September 2020 01:20 (five years ago)

celtics fault for not being up 4 points honestly

ciderpress, Friday, 4 September 2020 01:20 (five years ago)

shouldve been up 4 def

lag∞n, Friday, 4 September 2020 01:21 (five years ago)

they had some bad possessions before the kemba one

ciderpress, Friday, 4 September 2020 01:21 (five years ago)

Unbelievable. Boston's the better team, and I expect they'll move on, but that was just about the greatest pass I've ever seen from Walker, followed by a shot maybe even more improbable than Kawhi's.

clemenza, Friday, 4 September 2020 01:21 (five years ago)

toronto played ridiculously good defense for 2/3s of that game

Raptors head coach Nick Nurse says he got the game-winning 3-pointer play from an old coach Hubie Brown DVD.

Hubie Brown rocked a serious perm in the 80s.

earlnash, Friday, 4 September 2020 11:26 (five years ago)

easy find...maybe the same VCR tape?

earlnash, Friday, 4 September 2020 11:27 (five years ago)

Hubie Brown like many good coaches is really good calling a game and picking apart plays. Al McGuire was good at that too. It was the only thing good about Bobby Knight calling games.

Kawhi Leonard is shooting 24 of 30 (80%) on shots between 10-14 feet in the playoffs. I mean, look at this green. These are better than layups for him. It's insane. pic.twitter.com/XCB39UveHg

broke: everyone shoots 3s at 36% bc efficiency
woke: one guy shoots all the shots from 10 ft at 80% bc efficiency

methinks dababy doth bop shit too much (m bison), Friday, 4 September 2020 13:11 (five years ago)

fr tho, if guys start becoming hyperefficient midrange shooters (like >60%) it will change the game 4ever

methinks dababy doth bop shit too much (m bison), Friday, 4 September 2020 13:12 (five years ago)

being a good midrange shooter is a big advantage when defenses starts to tighten in the offs

lag∞n, Friday, 4 September 2020 13:17 (five years ago)

Ideal scenario is that midrange efficiency increases enough that points per is competitive/interchangeable with 3s

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Friday, 4 September 2020 13:23 (five years ago)

fwiw the idea that those shots that kawhi is making inside the ft have become unpopular in the nba is just not true, there was a chart around here somewhere, its really just the long twos thatve been converted to three thats the big shift, i mean even james harden himself takes 10 footers

lag∞n, Friday, 4 September 2020 13:27 (five years ago)

i watched part of the game iversons sixers took off of the lakers a while ago and it was crazy how many shots guys were taking one step inside the line or with their foot on the line they just didnt care lol
