how does the timing for the west coast play-in 8/9 seed work? everybody else takes a week off?
my understanding is that it's a two game playoff where the 8 seed only needs to win once but the 9 needs to win both games?

so if the blazers win their next 8 games in a row, they knock out the lakers. i like it.

8-9 game is saturday, if the 9 wins they play again on sunday. real playoffs start on monday.

hopefully some teams playing back ups in the fourth quarter over the next few days doesn't kill matt before then

so the 9 has to take 2 of 2 games off the 8 to steal the spot? i never actually looked up how they were doing that
