i mean it's not really that much different than any recent season in the last week, there's a few teams to play for and everyone else is just coasting

The last week of an 82 game season is a lot more understandable to be sus than the second week after 4 months off

been a blast watching the teams who are fighting for the 8-9 in the west (besides the pelicans and kings). the lakers clippers game was super good. weve had a lot of close games and overtime games.

what games still matter in the remaining pre-playoff roster?

all the suns, grizz, blazers and spurs games

also 2-7 in the west are all playing (or losing) for seeding positions maybe. also 4-6 in the east.

yeah I've seen those teams xp a lot because here in Europe they're the ones whose games are starting before 12:30am. they're been fun! the us east & west coast teams get the later starting times so I haven't seen them as much. also we've seen lots of jazz games, less fun than those four.

the lakers played their full roster and could barely win. it was compelling TV!

matt advocating both for more games and no games in order to address the problem of there being a few games per night for one week where one team isn't trying its hardest

if they had just skipped straight to the playoffs teams would've treated round 1 w/ kid gloves. there's no way of getting around the fact that the whole league is far more cautious about player health than ever.

going straight to the playoffs was a nonstarter anyway for myriad financial reasons... they more or less picked the perfect amount of games. maybe could've trimmed it by one but who really cares.

best wldve been just to finish out the regular season imo but barring that it seems like teams have at least had the opportunity to shake osome rust off which at this point is prob the most important thing

how does the timing for the west coast play-in 8/9 seed work? everybody else takes a week off?
my understanding is that it's a two game playoff where the 8 seed only needs to win once but the 9 needs to win both games?
