theyve got 4 monster contracts on the books for minimum 3 years. theyre all guys in their prime except horford which i'd expect makes him the hardest to trade.

its weird bc i cant imagine trading either simmons or embiid but...you kinda have to trade one of them, right? unless simmons turns into dirk over the summer.

i know embiid is probably better, but i feel like i'd keep simmons. horford back to the 5, tobias harris at the 4, richardson and the best player you get back in the package for embiid seems like itd be good? idk i thought this sixers lineup was gonna be good so dont mind me.

yeah, i think at this point you have to figure out how to get some perimeter talent onto the team. i'd probably start more with "who can i get" rather than "who should i trade" since simmons and embiid are both pretty flawed players in different ways.

yeah, gotta feel like portland can swing a CJ trade, esp if they think gary trent jr is a legit starter level player

I think Portland maxxed cj. if not full max, they came damn close. so this would be tricky to pull off unless some GM is deeply in love with McCollum and has assets Portland likes.

there are plenty of cj to sixers trades that work. the problem is more that portland's best lineups are all 4 out with nurk and there's nobody they can take back from the sixers that advances that cause.

a third team would be ideal

the one person whose opinion should matter most in assessing any cj trade for one or more sixer players would be coach stotts. he won't ever say a word in public, but he's the only one I'd like to hear from.

there was a lot of belief that josh richardson was like >80% of jimmy butler which did not turn out to be true

when those transactions happened my thinking was that the sixers were becoming an extremely high-variance team and i think that's basically held up

also ppl thought butler was washed but he was def one of the 5 best players in the east this year
